There's no Wanee 2017 thread yet? Well, now we do. It is April 20-22, 2017 and the initial lineup will be announced on December 5 with early birds on sale December 7.
That being said, I thought I was in for this year, but I just bought tickets to High Water. See you at Hula?
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
So we thinking something like Panic, TTB, Gregg Allman, Mule, Magpie Salute, another Butch Trucks Extravaganza? That's a pretty nice weekend
Panic is at Sweetwater 420 for two nights the same weekend. Rumors when announced were that they wanted to do something outside of Wanee. Do you think there is still a shot? I mean they are close enough to bounce back and forth but two nights of the Friday-Sunday are already booked.
Dead & Co. x2 Ween Mule TTB ZZ Top Hopefully not TAB (yawn)
Could possibly get Gregg's ABB reunion if his health bounces back by then but not likely. If Gregg is out of commission then I would def expect Butch's ragefest again, which would not suck.

I've heard the the ABB reunion wouldn't be until 2018. Gregg has indicated he is talking to people for this year but in booking circles they don't think it is going to happen in '17.
Wondering if DeadCo would even be able to play this with John Mayer's big tour next Spring. Maybe he'll do a DeadCo run then drop his album and tour after. This lineup can't drop soon enough, especially after that lame Hangout drop.
Bob Weir & The Campfire Boys, Widespread Panic, TAB, Gov't Mule, DSO, JJ Grey and Mofro, Les Brers, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, Leftover Salmon performing the music of Neil Young, The Greyboy Allstars, Blackberry Smoke, Matisyahu, Keller Williams' Grateful Grass, Papadosio, Turkuaz, Pink Talking FU Music of David Bowie + Prince, DJ Logic, Kung Fu, Pink Talking Fish, Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio, Marcus King Band, The Yeti Trio, Brothers and Sister Band and more!

Meh. Good stuff but Id prefer another version of Bobby at a festival. The undercard looks like a Catskill Chill undercard after the first couple lines. Nothing too exciting.
Just not the same since ABB quit. How do you go from Panic being the opening headlining act to being the straight headliner everytime? They need bigger headliners like Neil etc
No Ween on this lineup is very frustrating. Sweetwater lineup looks better but I'd rather be at SOSMP over downtown ATL 25/8/366.
So Bobby could headline a fest with that band? I've only listened to one show, I dunno....seems kinda mellow. Maybe for Thursday night headliner on Mushroom Stage that would work. Would def be better than another tired ass Hot Tuna show.
Obviously DSO needs to be a latenight, that would rule.

I should also give the caveat that I live in the Northeast and go to Peach and Catskill Chill. By "not interesting" I mean new or unique. These bands are great.
I'm pretty surprised at the crossover with SW420. Atlanta is only 3.5hrs away, but i guess the two fests don't feel like they're competing. Leftover doing Neil should be cool.
Pretty excited about this. I've lived in Jacksonville for two years and JUST went to my first Suwannee fest (Hula) so I need to make up for lost time!
SCC is going to be Star Wars themed. We are doing a storm trooper march on Thursday. Wear white and your battle gear. Everyone is welcome to come play in a galaxy far, far away.
I'm with you on the Bobby band, they fill me with the urge to take a nap.
How was your nap? Lol
Wanee was a good time. It was great to see everyone, but something was lacking. I felt like I heard the same song all weekend, there were a lot of covers. Attendance was down as well, I wonder how 420 played on the numbers. Will be back next year, but I hope they add a HL, because if not 420 was lookin sweet.
