@ the folks who questioned whether or not Brand New was draftable.
but this lineup is decent, wouldn't travel for it though. Kendrick, Foo, LCD, Killers, Brand New, Post Malone, Prophets of Rage will all be great shows.
LCD gets the preheadline spot before Kendrick or The Killers. No way they play on Le Plur conflicting a headliner.
As much as I'd love to revive the "is LCD EDM" argument, I agree. LCD is a mainstage pre-HL for sure. DJ Snake / Galantis / Dillon Francis are probably our Le Plur headliners. Which makes me worry that RL Grime might conflict with LCD.
I am not not sure what I am going to do. If I didn't already have Riot Fest (and ACL) tickets I would definitely buy this, especially since it is on my actual birthday this year. I just don't know. Money is tight. I just don't know. Presale prices would definitely help. Gotta talk to the old man, thejeremy.
At the end of October, the Sun will set in New Orleans at approx. 6:15pm, so even if they are playing as early as then there will be some darkness. I'd imagine they play no earlier than 7pm.
So here's where I'm at. Other than the people who want Porcupine Tree and King Crimson, the whiny kids on Facebook and the idiots who say they've only ever head of one act on this lineup, I have an Absolutely, No Way, Maybe and Who Knows list. The Who Knows is pretty big. I'm assuming much of that is up and coming and also some EDM because the EDM stage goes full time. You have to fill those slots in. I'll bust up an initial Top 10 after this post so I can figure shit out comparatively. Also, it looks like minimal crossover with ACL from what I remember, so ACL is now probably in the cards (already have Week 1 ticket):
Absolutely Will See (or split in a conflict): Kendrick Lamar Foo Fighters LCD Soundsystem RL Grime Prophets of Rage Afghan Whigs Charles Bradley & His Extrodinaires The Black Angeles G. Jones Rich Chigga Benjamin Booker Chicano Batman Mondo Cozmo (don't know them but recommendations from Inforoo) Black Pistol Fire Ron Gallo
NO WAY Galantis DJ Snake (would probably pass by to see who he brings out, but it will conflict with a headliner) Post Malone Yellow Claw Andrew McMahon & The Wilderness Louis the Child
Maybe The Killers Dillon Francis Brand New The Head and the Heart Kehlani Cold War Kids Crystal Castles Live Illenium NGHTMRE Whitney Strand of Oaks Anime Vintage Trouble Mija Colony House Autograf Flow Tribe (pissed me off last time they played by drowning out Hundred Waters) Boombox Cartel SNBRN Tokimonsta Pell Mannequin Pussy Unicorn Fckr Herb Christopher
Literally no idea:
Miguel (I know he's big, but ? ? ? ) Superduperkyle Marian Hill K Flay Gnash Hayley Kiyoko Bibi Bourelly The Record Company Joyryde Saint Jhn Sam Dew Flint Eastwood Pham La Femme Durand Jones & The Indications Public Access TV Bleached Tim Gunter DJ Mel DJ Gracie Malik Ninety Five Alfred Banks Free Swim Otto SKB & Yrstrly (Scab-e? hahaha if so) Werd2jah Zander
Early Morning Line Top 10:
1. Prophets of Rage - Saw RATM in 1993, Morello with Ozzy & Street Sweeper Social Club, Chuck D 3x and B. Real 1x
2. Kendrick Lamar - Saw pieces parts of a set years ago. He's the top rapper in the game right now
3. Foo Fighters - Never ever disappointed me (seen 3.5x)
4. The Black Angels - only ever saw this weekend on Primavera Sound Livestream
5. LCD Soundsystem - Have not seen except on live streams, most recently the Google Extravaganza
6. RL Grime - Have seen 4 times in different capacities. Great trap DJ.
7. G. Jones - Have seen 2x Very cool DJ
8. Afghan Whigs - Have not seen yet
9. Benjamin Booker - I've been wanting to see him for a while
10. Rich Chigga - No way is this for any reason other than irony and the appreciation that he's a comic. I can hardly watch his videos without tearing up from laughter. He's not that good of a rapper, but this should be entertaining
I've honestly never listened to them even once besides part of a Live stream, so I'm pretty ignorant toward them. Worth seeing?
Absolutely! Saw them at Milhaud Midtown in ATL last year...brought the house down! Huge crowd, everyone of us totally into the show...can't wait to see them again!

I meant Music Midtown...damn stubby fingers on cellphone!

Better move joyryde for the absolutely gotta see list!
Not super into this tbh. I'd love to see the Foo's LCD and Kendrick again, but this undercard is too similar to roo/acl. I've never seen Jay so this might've sealed ACL for me. Fingers crossed LCD is at DfN.

This list is looking like the one im working on.. Louis the Child put on a great set at EF last year, so I'll catch them if no other conflicts.. The more I look at the lineup, the better and better it seems to be.. Not a slam dunk, but not bad either
I am not not sure what I am going to do. If I didn't already have Riot Fest (and ACL) tickets I would definitely buy this, especially since it is on my actual birthday this year. I just don't know. Money is tight. I just don't know. Presale prices would definitely help. Gotta talk to the old man, thejeremy .
let me know i still have my ticket for you. if you opt to skip. @krisp it yours

As of now I still want the ticket. I really don't think that will change.
I was digging through the IDK list, and I did kind of like Joyryde, Malik 95, Alfred Banks and Werd2jah. Everything else was either R&B, singer-songwriter, house or just too young of stuff for me to really get into. So I'll move those 4 acts to Maybe. I still gotta dig through some of the maybes.
This lineup is right on the edge for me, but with Riot Fest and Day for Night on the other sides of this, I feel the need to skip it.
Looking like ACl, Voodoo, Day for Night run for me. I have tickets to all 3 already. I just have to decide if Prophets of Rage will push me over to Platinum so I can see that from the front row. Also, only a couple of crossovers for Weekend 1 ACL that I would potentially see (Killers, Black Angels, Benjamin Booker). So that basically allows for me to see Jay Z, RHCP, Chance, Gorillaz, The xx, Ice Cube, RTJ, Portugal, Bonobo, Cut Copy, Ferg, Royal Blood, badbadnotgood, EoDM, Big Wild, Thundercat at ACL and then what I want at Voodoo. The fall is looking good so far. Day for Night is the wild card though. You know the lineup is going to be good (even with a lot of it likely to be challenging listening), but it's probably not going to cross much with either Voodoo or ACL.

Yea, monetarily I just don't see my self getting down there for this. The Killers were bland as hell when I saw them, Kendrick was great at Coachella but I'm already going to his show here in Michigan, and The Foo's have put out 1 or 2 boring albums since I've seen them last. The under card is legit for a fest in this price range but it's not unique at all. LCD after a new album and not headlining is weird to me. Would have preferred LCD up top and 3 smaller acts than The Killers.
