Thinking about maybe grabbing 3 GA's and a VIP and just holding the GA's until the prices go up and fund most of the VIP purchase for the price of a GA. It would be an easy sell for $175-200 down the line when the tickets are $225-250 or whatever.

Can you payment plan these early birds? Hell I'd get the max and flip them down the line
Are LOA going to have a presale? There is no price and it says "2017 Ticket information coming soon. A 3-Day Loa VIP Ticket gives you admittance to the park for all three days of the Festival with special access & amenities."
You get a wristband a few weeks before the festival. Pre-sale is always worth it. Go read the last two pages of this year's thread, and it will give you a good idea.
I think im gonna hop on presale with u peeps. $99 that I could always sell later if needed.
Flights to and from Midway were always pretty cheap and usually around $200. Flight time is usually just under 2 hours. The drive is about 13.5-14 hours. So it's not that bad except for the Southern Illinois portion that just seems to go on and on and on. Regardless of whether you hit that career change, the time in banking will pay off. You figure you can get double your money easily since they sell for around $250 and fees the week or two leading up to the fest.
Money is tight this week gonna have to skip this to make sure I got plenty of cash for Day for Night next week.
Still on the ropes on if I'm going to Voodoo anyways, really want to check out Hulaween.
Yeah no shit. I just had to do a transfer of like $750 to get through this weekend. I got Voodoo, my little brother's micro-brewery crawl tomorrow, niece's birthday, dinner with my Dad tonight, Christmas presents and then Day for Night. But you probably should go to Hulaween if you want to. Like I always said, I'm not ever going to go because of the weekend conflict and because it's the same shit I see all year anyway plus String Cheese (plus me not digging the small-town heat at SOSMP but that's just me). The lineup for Hula is always great, and the venue and camping there is beautiful as you know. So otherwise, it's that proverbial 6 in one and half dozen in the other for anyone who doesn't live here or say Tallahassee/Jacksonville where it's a no-brainer which one to pick.
If I lived walking distance to Voodoo like you there is zero chance I would not go to Hula.
My girl being not experienced with jammy stuff is another motivation as it's all new to her, and that kind of thing is always way better when you have people that know what they're doing showing you the ropes.

100% Bingo on both point. I went ahead and got 2 GA's because that's all they had. Total was $242.34, so that's $121.17 per. Not bad. I'm still going to get a LOA when they come out and hopefully these will go for at least a deuce.
Got 2 tickets for this today friends. Can't wait to go to New Orleans for the first time
nicely done on the leap of faith for both voodoo and new orleans.
quick advice: now you have plenty of time to setup your accommodations, if you haven't already. not sure if you can book a hotel this far out but it's always better to book sooner rather than later. halloween is a very popular weekend in new orleans, and prices will get out of control close to the fest.

I went ahead and bought a pair too. Friends from Houston that came had such a great time that they want to make Voodoo our annual meetup fest instead of Jazzfest. Works for me. My wife says she isn't going back next year but she says that after every music festival. She'll come around.
Stumbled into this thread and saw that ticket price. Might have to hop on the 1st time Voodoo/NOLA train. Just need to reach out to see if people I know might be interested.
I got some that are def interested but no1 can commit because it's so far out which is understandable. I just figure I'll have no problem getting my money back so why not.

Also, these hotel prices are fucked already. After fees, it's basically $1000 for a room with 2 beds within a mile of the fest. If I have 5 guys then it's not bad esp with how cheap the ticket is, but if it gets down to like 3-4, that's gonna suck.
Told my brother about the presale and he immediately was on board, so that's 1! Any idea how the resale market is? I figure at that price, it'd be fairly easy to make your money back but any experience?
Can't AirB&B's cancel on u though? That was my worry. I found a hotel w 2 king beds and free cancellation like 12 blocks from the park so I booked that. $586 for 3 nights after fees. That's nothing. Hopefully it all works out.
