Hey there. I'm a bit of an over-planner so I figured I make this thread now so I can know what I'm doing later.
This will be my first Roo, I was going to go with my boyfriend but he isn't completely in love with the camping idea...me on the other had, I'm still 110% and committed to going, money ready to buy my ticket on the 11th. Since this will be my first time and I'm flying solo I was wondering if there are any other solo ladies who want to share a tent and have a group (though you don't HAVE to hang with us lol).
Another benefit of creating a tent group is we can coordinate who is bringing what, because I'm not a regular camper so I don't already have most of the supplies (but of course I'd buy what I need to) so coordinating can cut back on costs. We'd make a Google Doc of all the things we need and each person can sign up for things to bring until it's all taken care of. I have a 6-person tent (this one) so far, so I was thinking 3 more people (women preferred but it's whatever) and it'd still be roomy.
Also, I'd like to camp with Reddaroo, so maybe we can take our mini tiny group and camp with them too, which will help make things easier since we'd probably be coming from all over.
I live in Raleigh/Durham NC so it's a double bonus if anyone who wants to join lives on my route or in my area so we can carpool.
Oh and about me: I'm 20 and a college student. I can be a little quiet but the right person can make me never stop talking. I'm super chill and really want to have a good time, I see this as one of those must do things. I just want to experience life, I'm a little tired of being quiet! I like alternative music, some hip-hop, some pop, and rock. I'm a planner and always do my part. I hope we can all get to know each other, we have plenty of time!
If you don't have anyone, might try contacting the reddaroo group and see about just camping with them. What you're wanting to do with strangers is the equivalent of groop camping and they probably have a ton of experienced roo'ers and you might not need to bring much.
