Okay so that's all of the Roo clues for this year. We got Getter, The Orwells, NGHTMRE, Borgore, Umphrey's Mcgee, Dua Lipa, Big Gigantic, Cage the Elephant, and Lorde. Our headliners are already confirmed as U2, RHCP, and The Weeknd. Then Chance the Rapper and The Avalanches are basically confirmed too. So I think we have a very good idea where to set our expectations for Bonnaroo this year.

Listed out, it doesn't seem quite as bad as we've made it out to be. Just pointless.

yeah, this is basically 2016 part two. I posted this on reddit but I expect it to be downvoted into oblivion:
-a bunch of dubstep/trap artists that have already peaked (Getter/Borgore/NGHTMRE vs Flosstradamus/Zeds Dead/Adventure Club/Keys N Krates/Zeds Dead) -some up and coming acts that only have one or two releases (The Orwells/Milky Chance/Dua Lipa vs. Fidlar/Halsey/Andra Day/a bunch of other acts on the lineup) -a few returning acts that play literally every festival, though are nonetheless good bands (Big Gigantic/Cage the Elephant vs. Tame Impala/Haim/CHVRCHES -token jam act so Bonnaroo can say it's sticking to its roots (Umphrey's McGee vs. Ween/Lettuce) -newish female popstar with a bunch of hits in a short amount of time (Lorde vs. Ellie Goulding) -headliners for the old folks (U2/RHCP vs Dead & Co./Pearl Jam)

It seems pretty bad, unless you're a big U2 fan.
I'm not saying it's good. Because it's not. I think it's problem is just not knowing what it's trying to be. It still has the potential to not be trash, but best case scenario is really something in between 2015 and 2016. It'll really come down to how much they lean into that EDM

I agree, it's 2016 but with more popular headliners. For a while my biggest fear was that 2017 would somehow be worse than 2016. Which I guess is still possible. I'm still on the fence about Bonnaroo as of right now.

At least the clues picked up somewhat. Has me excited for the top half, but having Getter and NGHTMRE and Borgore all make me think the line up is gonna wear thin again near the bottom
Looks like the top few lines might be really solid. Bottom half might be vanilla/cheese, but hard to know without seeing it in full. All I'm hoping for is something at around 2015's level and I'm good. That's enough for me to make the short drive.

In my opinion 2015 was great because they had a lot of cool bookings, Tears For Fears, Slayer, Earth Wind & Fire, Atomic Bomb!, King Gizzard, Jamie xx, Flying Lotus, ect. I feel like we're not getting anything like that this year.
I'm definitely cool with a top line of u2* RHCP* the Weeknd* chance the rapper* Lorde
Hopefully flume is the big edm name and the xx ends up being on it. With the avalanches already on the lineup as well I'm pretty excited by the possibilities of this lineup. Honestly those names alone get me more excited than I was for last year after the lineup dropped. Hope I'm able to make it this year.
