The Shins as well with the 'Gone for Good' reference in an IG post
If intentional, that would be some mighty fine trolling on their part. The Shins have a show in Denmark on 8/13.
They have Osheaga (presumably) Friday, Lolla on Sunday, the 6th. They could do another show or two on the way down to San Fran for the 11th and then head to Europe.
2021 08-07: Japanese Breakfast @ Union Transfer 09-08: My Morning Jacket / Brittany Howard @ The Mann 09-18: Soccer Mommy @ Union Transfer 10-01 thru 10-03: Austin City Limits Music Festival 10-19: Waxahatchee @ Union Transfer 10-27: Arlo Parks @ The Foundry 11-09: Squid @ Johnny Brenda's 11-17: Monophonics @ World Cafe Live 12-01: Caribou @ Union Transfer
Pretty solid lineup overall. Tickets are $410 after fees, officially making it the most expensive fest in North America which is a bummer.
But that's a better lineup than Lolla and Roo and probably challenges Coachella for best overall lineup in NA this year, with FYF probably being best pound-for-pound lineup.
I put this way above Coachella or FYF (for my taste anyway).
This looks like a huge top 10, then it really falls off from there outside of a couple highlights. I'm imagining I'd be bored from 1 PM to 6 PM each day of the fest if I went then get 2-3 great shows a night. For $410 vs. Coachella's lineup where you have stuff like the Avalanches, Guided by Voices, Royksopp, Moderat, Hans Zimmer, Floating Points, King Gizzard, Roising Murphy, Nicholas Jaar, etc. well outside the top 10, I'd have a tough time saying this is "way above Coachella" or even equal.
That's just the way I look at it when I pay $400 for a fest though. I'm also in no way knocking it, Metallica - The Who - Gorillaz is a great top 3 and there will be 1-2 great subs each day. Just really falls from there.
