My favorite lineup announcement was definitely the first one but there are several names on the latest drop that I also like (Jenny Lewis, Jay Som). My problem is that I can only go for 2 days (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun) and my favorite bands on the lineup are split across all 4 days. It also doesn't help that my 2 favorite headliners are Thurs and Sunday. Still thinking that I am going but I will have to make some choices and I'm disappointed that I will miss Oberst, Parquet Courts and Big Thief no matter which days I choose. If there is another 14 artist drop, maybe we'll pick up another couple artists that I'm excited to see.

Man, that really sucks, I hope you're able to make it more than 2 days. I'm really surprised at how stacked Thursday is; it's probably the best Thursday lineup the festival's ever had. What's keeping you from being able to attend all 4 days? Even if you can't make it the whole weekend, it looks like it would still be cheaper or about the same cost to buy the full weekend pass instead of day passes for Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun.

Well, no one act I'm in love with, except maybe Margaret Glaspy, but this is looking really good. I sure wouldn't mind if NMF began to include some choice underground hip-hop and R&B artists, as well as more soul or some funk, but you have to give them credit for sticking to the script and nailing it again. What a fun lineup. Not everyone is right in my wheelhouse, but that's a good thing, since I love finding new music and damn near all these bands seem to be good at what they do.
With Ween, Parquet Courts, Twin Peaks, Rodriguez, Margaret Glaspy, Sallie Ford, Sara Watkins, and TMBG on the bill I know I'll have fun. Everything else is icing on the cake, and I expect the atmosphere to be stress free and upbeat.
Yeah, 2 days are about the same as the full cost but I am going to Bonnaroo the next week and 2 consecutive 4 day festivals in a row is a bit much.
A bit too much fun. C'mon buck up. I'm considering both fests and I'm an old man
Ha, I'm an even older man. Its not the fun part. If it was up to me I'd do the whole 4 days but work and family make that a bit harder. I'm pretty sure that I'm going just working it through with my daughter who will be joining me. I might try to stretch to 3 days but Thurs is the one day that I can't make it....unfortunately, because I'd really like to see a few of the bands Thurs.
Next round has arrived! Really digging Boogarins, LA Witch, and Leggy, but I'm not familiar with any of the other names besides some of the Ohio acts like Bummers and D-Rays. Looking forward to checking the rest of the new acts out! We're up to 62 names on the poster if my counting's accurate, so this was likely the last round of announcements.
I saw Boogarins open up for Andrew Bird last year in Columbus, amazing show. This is going to be a fun weekend. Ween on Saturday night is going to be a riot. I'll be camping with my usual group (about 10 of us), would love to meet some of you folks. A couple years ago I tried to arrange a meet up and I got a note left in my campground signed by some inforooers. Look for the Camp Knoseman flag flying high.

I'm down to meet up, I'll be on the lookout for your camp!
Thanks, very nice! I will definitely be referencing that. Much easier to read, since NMF used a simple grid and just had to put times up to 75 minutes apart on the same line.
Unrelated: I don't remember seeing any annoying totems or shit-on-a-stick there in 2015, but do you think they'll allow a well-illuminated 50' x 10' banner into the concert field, so I can declare my totally normal, uncreepy love for Margaret Glaspy, and we can live happily ever after together? It should only completely block the stage for about 30% of attendees. I must be getting excited, because I started a packing list last night.

It was my pleasure! I've had a rough time with their grid too and putting it on a clashfinder makes it so much simpler, even though I did have to guess at set lengths.
You may have a bit of trouble getting that banner in, but I'd love to see you try! I'm going to try to go to Glaspy's Friday set, since the Saturday one conflicts directly with Sallie Ford and Jay Som.

Yeah, maybe I'll skip the banner and just hope I bump into her, in my dreams. And I can't fault NMF for much, but putting Margaret and Sallie Ford on at the same time is criminal. Fortunately they're both playing two sets. I'll be watching both Friday, and probably end up trying to catch some of each on Saturday.
I just discovered L.A. Witch and I have to say, between them and Twin Peaks it looks like NMF is going to have a better late night scene than Bonnaroo, even if "late night" only means 'til midnightish.
The schedule's been updated due to Luke Roberts dropping out and few other acts were shuffled around. The clashfinder has also been updated.
Here's my tentative schedule (green is definite, blue is maybe). What do your schedules look like and are there any acts I'm missing out on that I should check out?

Mine's looking pretty similar Thursday, except I may not make it in for anything before Big Thief. Very close on Saturday too, though I'll likely skip Aldous Harding and Frazey Ford in favor of dinner and some quiet time. Friday and Sunday I'm less sure about and still need to do some research, though the later Friday acts are no-brainers.
I suck at sticking to schedules though, and don't feel bad about it. It's fun to wander around and play it by ear, so to speak, and I won't hesitate to leave one show for another if it isn't something I really dig. This isn't a lineup I'm hugely familiar with top to bottom but it's very solid, and most of what I've checked out sounds good.
Definite so far: Thursday: Big Thief, Parquet Courts, Bummers, Oberst, Gallo. Friday: Sallie, Margaret, Rodriguez, TMBG, L.A. Witch. Saturday: Hellnaw, Sallie, Margaret, Mr. Elevator, some of Jenny Lewis, at least some of Boogarins, Ween, Twin Peaks. Sunday: Son Volt, Shannon & the Clams, Emmylou (if I don't have to split early)

I totally get that. One of the reasons I love NMF's site is that it's so easy to move between stages. Like you, there's a ton of acts that sound interesting to me, but if I'm not into them live then another act is just a couple minutes away.
Also, I was initially going to take it easy Saturday afternoon after Hellnaw but after seeing The Cactus Blossoms in one of the new Twin Peaks episodes I'm making a point to check out their set.
Question from a first timer, does anyone know if there are restrictions on the type of cameras they allow you to bring in? The FAQ from the website just says that they allow cameras. No specifics beyond that. Not that I have a professional camera with a giant lens but would they let me bring in an interchangeable lens camera with a 3-4" lens?
I'll answer my own question as I went up to the festival yesterday. They will basically let you take any camera that you want in, no questions asked. Got some great pictures.
Also, the festival is everything that people have been saying it is.....Beautiful location, very laid back and great music. They allow lawn chairs at the back of the fields, so you can relax with the old timers or go stand up front next to the stage. I could basically get as close as I wanted until late in the day for Rodriguez and TMBGs. I will definitely be going back in the future.
Tip for Bonnaroo: Saw Aaron Lee Tasjan early in the day and he was great. Much more of a rocker than I expected. Good guitar player and was very entertaining between songs. Will be going back to see him at Bonnaroo.

That's great to hear about the camera, I assumed they'd be cool with it but didn't want to speculate.
Even late in the day I feel like I was able to get fairly close for Rodriguez and TMBG right before their sets, which makes me feel like I can check out Boogarins right before Ween for a bit.
I really enjoyed Aaron's set as well, but the big winner of yesterday for me goes Margaret Glaspy, who blew away any expectations I had.
I saw Glaspy last year at Bonnaroo with about 10 other people willing to stand in the sun. Was great then and great again yesterday at Nelsonville.
I was one of those 10ish. A bit after her box car stage set I saw her leaving the corndog and funnel cake trailer. She was by herself, so I restrained my desire to act like a creepy jackass but did say hi, tell her she sounded great, that I enjoyed seeing her by pure luck at Bonnaroo, and was looking forward to seeing her on the main stage. She said thanks and was really nice.
I love Margaret, but I have to say I probably enjoyed Sallie Fords sets as much as anything -- super kickass. Ron Gallo was a complete surprise to me, as I somehow thought he'd be a whiny little folk-pop singer, for some reason. I was wrong, and his shows were both fun. Jay Som was another good one I'd never really heard of, Hellnaw were fun (though not something I'm likely to listen to more), and L.A. Witch were kinda cool.
I'd never listened to Jenny Lewis much and almost skipped her show because I just remembered hearing that she was "the sad girl." Maybe she's changed, but she seemed really upbeat. Good stuff. And of course TMBG were fun and goofy, Ween were typical Ween weirdness.
NMF was a good time, for sure. The weather was better than anticipated (hot, but not Roo-hot, and earlier in the week rain and storms were forecast for Fri and Sat, I think), I made it to the campground tent for a bit, and there was almost no line for the showers if you made it there really early. Top it off with Jackie O's being the main beer vendor, and I couldn't have asked for much more.

I saw Ron at the Woodward a few weeks earlier in Cinci and knew what to expect. I really like that Aaron Lee Tasjan joined him at the end playing bass. Nelsonville did a good job of mixing harder alt bands like Cloud Nothings and Ron Gallo and more off beat folk/alt like Margaret Glaspy. That's perfect for me, as I love both of the genres. Combine that with a great setting and laid back festival and I'm hooked.

Like you guys I had a great time too. I ended up missing Thursday due to a minor family emergency, but got in on Friday just in time to see Counterfeit Madison. I wasn't expecting too much from the local/Ohio acts, but Counterfeit Madison, Swarming Branch, and Hellnaw ended up putting on some of the most fun sets of the weekend.
The overall winners for me were TMBG, Margaret Glaspy, and Aldous Harding. TMBG were way more fun than I was expecting and I loved the dynamic between the Johns. Margaret was killer, she's got a big future ahead of her and I feel lucky to have caught her so early in her career. Aldous was the biggest stunner, I'd heard her new album and enjoyed it but never expected her set to be so haunting and intense. The only other performers who radiated the same vibe as her that I've seen are Nick Cave and St. Vincent. After the set my fiancée said she wasn't sure if she had breathed during the whole set.
Ween sounded great and played a lot of my favorites but I was a bit put off by some of the jamming and song choices (Cover It With Gas and Set It on Fire was a horrible choice for a fest like this). Other than those, I really enjoyed Boogarins, Ona, Rodgriguez, Jay Som, The Cactus Blossoms, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Mr. Elevator, Shannon & the Clams, and of course Michael Hurley. Overall it was another great year for the fest and I'm looking forward to what they come up with next year!
