This is my 1st Bonnaroo and since I'm more of a glamper than camper, my BFF & I are doing the VIP thing. We also got the Farm Fare add-on, and I haven't seen anything on here about that so is it new for 2017? I also have read some conflicting things about VIP showers. Do you still have to pay per use like in GA? Thanks for any help in advance!
I haven't done the FF thing, so I can't comment on that. On the VIP showers......you don't have to pay for them. Last year they were still set up as large scale Port-a-showers (i.e. they hadn't run the water lines into VIP yet). The showers are individual stalls within a large tent enclosure and include some secondary sinks. Lines could get backed up during peak times (9-12 in the mornings) although not as bad as I remember GA. Hot water was a bit hit or miss during peak times. I found the best approach was to hit the showers right before bed. No lines, reliable hot water and always slept better.
I also do the VIP but never the farm fare. I don't feel like it is worth it personally. We bring breakfast, lunch and snacks with us and then eat a meal in Centeroo, plus on Thursday night they feed all VIP'ers and give out free beer and Sunday morning there is the gospel brunch which is also free. Between me and thejeremy it is costs us about $20/day to eat at Bonnaroo making the farm fare just too expensive.
As mash stated, showers are free. I personally never had an issue with lines, but I never went first thing in the morning. VIP is totally worth it, IMO. You are going to have a great time.
mash & Vieux : thanks so much for the helpful info! it's gonna be a girls weekend away from our husband(s) & children so as long as there's no invasion of extra-terrestrials or drug lords, we are almost guaranteed a good time! I'm just a *planner* and like to know everything I can before-hand. Again, thanks for helping ease some anxiety.
