Ayeeeee just reserved my room at Club Quarters as it was the cheapest and semi closeish. Anybody else gonna be there? Inforoo party!! Also if you have been there before what's your opinion on the hotel. It's definitely walking distance right?

Just read this whole thread, any and all information about Club Quarters has already been posted.

Okay sweet so I'll just hunt through 50 pages versus somebody just answering my question.
Sooo, are we booking a giant Airbnb together or not? Who's in?
Bunch of us stayed at Club Quarters Hotel last year, already have a room booked for this year. It's within walking distance of the venue. Looks like their prices have gone up a little bit since I booked though.
A big air'b'n'b would be fun if we found something within walking distance.
I wonder if there's a way to have Club Quarters put all of us on the same floor?
Also, I think there's zero reason to doubt that lineup is real. It came directly from their site, and was only up for a short time before they realized it. Like Phi mentioned, it's shocking how bad festivals can be with tech at times. How many times has Bonnaroo leaked their lineup through the app or website?
Looks like there's gonna be a huge Inforoo meetup.
Ya, I think I'll give them a call in a month or so once everyone has rooms. I'm pretty sure the Mountain Oasis Inforoo group used to do the same in the hotel they all stayed in. I can't imagine it being a big deal. If anything, it will prevent them having noise complaints from neighbors who want to sleep!
I'm doing this fest solo, booking a flight next week and will start looking for a place to stay soon after. I've never done this fest or Houston so hopefully some of you can help me out. What a fackin lineup though
Stay at Club Quarters Hotel in Downtown Houston. Walking distance to the fest and very reasonable prices for a decent clean hotel. Its where most of us are staying. You can book it on Booking.com with No Deposit and Free Cancellation. I'd jump on it today though as it WILL book up.

Booked it, thank you
I was bored. I'm booked at Club Quarters. Just need to get a ticket and some time off now.

I'm sure Bonnaroo is the top 1 festival with the most (active) Inforoo posters in any given year. But Day for Night has to be in the Top 5 otherwise, right? That's pretty cool for a small, niche festival.

i don't have it organized very well for data analysis, i'll do a google sheet next year. but at a glance the highest attended festivals were Boston Calling and Coachella, each who had 21. Bonnaroo at 17.

Got the okay from my boss on the time off. Just gotta book a flight and I'm all set, which will make this the earliest I've ever had everything squared up for a fest. Which means time is going to start moving at a crawl after the first week of November.
I actually specifically mentioned how much of a rip-off VIP seemed to be, in my FestSnobs review of 2016. They didn't get better viewing areas, they didn't receive multiple perks that were promised to them, etc.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Just do GA
theyve had to have smoothed it out for this year no? did they do vip for the first year? They seem to be projecting the meet and greet failure on bjork from that article, also what they said about the swag bag makes sense, did you get yours?

I didn't do VIP; I had Media and basically got all the same perks as VIP. No swag bag though.
Their complaints were legitimate. They were promised artist greet and meets that never happened. and also the fact that they didn't have a separate VIP line for the bjork VR - pretty ridiculous.
I do hope they've smoothed things over for this year! Overall it is a fantastic festival that I highly recommend, so I wouldn't be surprised if they took in the criticisms from last year and shaped up the VIP situation.

thats pretty whack. tbf the bjork vr rollout in general needed to be smoothed out, looks like they didn't book anything like that really this year, I guess we'll see. but like solange's thing is pre party only and that's what i would have expected for that.
also, FPSF VIP from what I remember was also pretty lame. the main perk was getting access to AC tents, but the viewing areas were way far away from the stages and it was more about the bar/ac. there were some nice bleacher things by the main stage that were above the crowd. maybe Omar just low key hates people that VIP.

I sent a DM to the Day for Night FB page asking if issues with VIP 2016 were being addressed for 2017 citing that post I found. They responded with this unspecific boilerplate acknowledgement:
We are definitely aware of the issues that happened last year and are working hard on making this year a great VIP experience
Also, regarding VIP viewing areas:
We are still working on those placements, and certainly with VIP optimal viewing in mind. Check back in in a few weeks for more info on that
Not getting the sense that this is worth $800, so GA it is then. Club Quarters too. Anyone looking to split rooms?
tronik, I'm not going, and I have a room reserved at Club Quarters, which I haven't cancelled yet. If you're interested, I can talk to them and try to transfer the room to you. Let me know either way.
I'm expecting daily lineups as well but it's weird they're using the word schedule.
i've noticed festivals adopting the nomenclature "daily schedule" to mean what artists are playing on what day, and "set times" to mean the actual schedule.
