since their pre-sales are already up may as well make a thread...
It's hard for any festival to come back from taking a year off, let alone an independent with close to half a milllion in lawsuits against you.
I hope Levitation/Psych Fest is able to recover and rise from the ashes. It might be under the current name, or maybe they settle the suits, dissolve, and form a new company/fest.
If the fest ever revives, you can be sure that I'll be there cheering them on.
The Reverberation Appreciation Society, you are one of the greats. /hat tip
Edit: But the neighbor(s) around Carson Creek Ranch? They can fuck right off.
Jamiroquai - NIN/Kraftwerk/Depeche Mode - The Orb - Nick Cave/PJ Harvey- Hans Zimmer -Vince Staples - The Avalanches - Nico Jarr- Dave Harrington's group - other awesome shit that'll make me come to Houston

Depeche will be in Houston in Sept, theyre out imo.
PJ is doing a show here in April, I can't remember off the top of my head but there were a few DfN acts that I had the opportunity/did see earlier in the year, so there's a chance, but shes not a big tourer.
Vince will be doing his in April as well, but is more likely than PJ.
That said, the rest would be fantastic. Already have my passes, Avalanches alone at this point would make it for me. Hoping for a Young Turks takeover and getting FKA SBTRKT Sampha and maybe Jamie/XX.
I'm kind of kicking myself for not jumping on the presales a weeks back. Oh well, the possibility of Jamiroquai has me all giddy. I'd love for this fest to stay at the post office, but am willing to try a new venue...a new venue makes for more excitement, IMHO. Also, gonna have to put more of an effort to meeting some of you. I was really glad to randomly run into Rothric (met plenty of times at local shows) and Monie (first time meeting). It was all dark at the blue stage, and I was sitting towards the back, then I just happened to look up and saw Rothric...pretty hilarious!

Ha, ya I was kinda surprised to feel a tap on my leg, look down, and see you sitting there! We have a way of always randomly running into each other. And that was actually Rummy you met then
I missed this link on February 28, because it was Mardi Gras Day. It's intensive and way over my head. I hate ever saying or thinking that I'm ignorant to shit, because I don't ever want to be. But if I am, i will admit that I am. If anyone else missed this link from their Facebook page, it's about the most detailed and comprehensive review of the light installations that has been published. For the record:
Yeah, it's pretty spectacular. To me it's "light" or "light-art." But when you figure people walking by or through an installation can trigger where it goes and what it's boundaries are, it just gets so fn abstract for me. I still appreciate it, but I'm neither an engineer or artist so I'm getting it and taking it in at kindergarten or first grade level.
For anyone who happens on this thread who didn't go, the laser grids was one of my favorite art pieces. It's way more abstract and yet defined than I would have imagined.
They didn't release the line-up until September 14th last year. a long and painful wait. Hopefully they at least release some news on the venue situation well before then.
So if they moved the fest somewhere else, like the places that have been mentioned already (can't remember names..) they would still be walking distance to downtown right? That shit was so convenient. Never Uber'd or anything once. If they would just open a back door to last year's venue like the yellow stage then it wouldn't be such a clusterfuck inside and at that bottleneck by the main doors.
