Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If you guys don't know, Tyler and his friends are some of the grooviest in hip hop right now. He really is a really fun performer, no matter the stage. Hope you guys check out this Tiny Desk Concert!
I'll be at the Friday events, but prob not until about 7-8 pm. I'm more of a lurker on these boards, but I've meet some peeps from here in real life...Rothric (Rothric, in case I didn't tag him correctly) is the one that I'm best acquainted with. Also, I met Phi (Phyre Fest) at Mountain Oasis many moons ago. Anywho, just thought I'd say that I'll be there on Friday, and if there should be a meetup, I'll def try to make that as well.
I asked them on Instagram about the Red Stage move and they replied “You’ll see why”.
Makes me think they’re going to project something on the side of the building there that incorporates with the performances on that stage.
It also makes sense to work around one backstage area now. I think it was mentioned before how it's been made into an L shape. I remember the smoking section backed right into the crew last year which was kinda awkward.
Plus, the stage Ankle Pants was on was really just in a bad place. One would really have no reason to walk back to that area unless they were specifically looking for that stage or throwing out boxes. It really has opened up the front end/shut out the back.

nah dog we don't do the aquarium, please don't go.
"In December 2004, Landry’s transported four white tigers to its Downtown Aquarium restaurant and amusement park complex in Houston, Texas. For the last 12 years, Landry’s has deprived these four tigers—named Nero, Marina, Coral, and Reef—of any access to sunlight, fresh air, or natural surfaces. These species-inappropriate living conditions violate the ESA, which has protected tigers since 1970. In the wild, tigers cover a range of up to 40 square miles. In contrast, at the Downtown Aquarium, the tigers’ entire world is limited to a few hundred square feet. The tigers alternate their time between the concrete “Maharaja’s Temple” on display to the public and a small metal cage out of the public’s sight. At no point do the tigers have the opportunity to run, jump, or engage in the full range of their natural behaviors.
“The dungeon-like conditions that the tigers are forced to endure at Houston’s Downtown Aquarium harm their physical health and psychological wellbeing, and deny them much that is natural and important to a tiger,” says renowned big cat veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Conrad. “It is cruel to confine complex, roaming carnivores such as tigers to a tiny, dark, artificial, unenriched enclosure where they never see any daylight, much less bask in sunshine, and are at risk for serious long term, debilitating injuries from being forced to live on slippery, unyielding concrete their entire lives.”
The tigers’ living conditions starkly contrast with the decades-long trend to place captive tigers in more natural habitats, such as the tiger habitat at the Houston Zoo. Of the more than 100 Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited facilities housing tigers in the United States, only one other facility does not have an outdoor exhibit for the tigers: the Downtown Aquarium in Denver, also owned by Landry’s.
“Tigers are complex apex predators with specific biological, environmental, and enrichment needs,” says Animal Legal Defense Fund Executive Director Stephen Wells. “Landry’s, Inc. should stick to the restaurant business and leave the housing of tigers to those who are able to provide big cats with proper care and naturalistic habitats rather than sacrificing the wellbeing of an endangered species for the sake of tourist dollars.”
By forcing these tigers to live in what amounts to a concrete dungeon, Landry’s has profited financially, but caused the tigers serious mental and physical harm. Keeping the tigers at the Downtown Aquarium advances no conservation purpose under the ESA. Retiring the tigers to a sanctuary will guarantee that the tigers may spend the rest of their lives in the species-appropriate conditions that they need and deserve.[9]"

Shit. That's awful, thanks for the heads up. Can only imagine what that means for a 20 ft snake. probably in some like 10X10 square.

if you need to get your sea life on Galveston isn't too far from downtown, and then the Houston Zoo is pretty solid. They've got a solid reptile house, there's a python (idk how big). We also just got gorillas. Our lion and albino alligator died and retired, respectively, so if those are more your thing you're out of luck.
yeah the owner of said establishment just bought my favorite sports franchise so I'm kind of torn (but idk how much of that is him, it's a small part of a pretty big restaurant/casino business)

last year on friday we went to torchy's tacos > gatlin's bbq > shipley donuts > AA meeting > drive through some rich neighborhood and looked at christmas lights and it was a pretty great day.
I can't say I've ever gone to an aquarium to see a tiger. That sounds real awful.
More awful was the Tiger that lived in a cage at a Tiger Stop gas station near Lafayette. He passed away this year after 10 years of protests against his living conditions. Supposedly, it will never happen again.

Torchy's is the bomb. All of you coming from out of state should try it. I meant to stop at Gatlin's when I was in Houston over the summer, but never made it. May hit that up on my way out of town on Monday.

I think those were on my list this summer too. For Mexican food, I only made it to a place in Montrose-Kirby and can't even remember the name. I'll keep those in mind. Wish I had more time to eat between sleeping and festing. Anything I do try will need to be close. Anyone ever come up with a meet-up plan?

Ha! I just drove around 30 minutes to the one in Highland Village yesterday. I had the Trailer Park (trashy) and the Caribbean Jerk chicken one, with chips and salsa. It did not disappoint.

Looking at El Tiempo as noted last week as it was recommended highly by a friend who lived there for a couple of years and who eats more high end shit than anyone I know. It's hella expensive, but if I don't end up going on Friday to the summit for free, I'm probably looking at spending some money.

it's good. theres one in Minute Maid and Austin will never get a pro sports team so it's a deece trade off.

The new Mike the Tiger is so cute and they are constantly doing upgrades to his living area.
