I think that spot was going to be for Sky but she dropped and they didn't fix it. Instead of going to Cardi B, why not get a good spot or watch Pretty Lights, James Black, Forest Swords, Laurie Anderson, Freeka Tet, or BLACKIE.
I’ll be moving around all fest and will easily have a good spot for Laurie since no one knows who she is anyway. But the way the fest is laid out, I’ll be outside at Pretty Lights and can easily walk across the front lawn of Post HTX to get to the back of the Green Stage for 10-15 minutes before going through the front doors to get to Blue Stage for Laurie.
Is it really that easy? I know the place is small but I like getting close for most shows. Not chilling in the back, it doesn't get the full vibe for me.
I hate missing Laurie Anderson for James Blake but I've been following him since his first album and the last time I saw him he didn't have nearly all the music he does now!
Yeah. They moved the red stage toward the back of the east side of the building on the NE side. The green stage is perpendicular and along the SW side of the fest. It’s about a 5 min walk at most. But yeah, I don’t need front for Cardi B anyway and figure I’ll get close enough for Laurie. Also since I got VIP, I heard there were some stage perks but I’m not sure exactly how. Otherwise, yeah. I usually get VIP for Voodoo and Buku and used to for Wakarusa because you can roll into the front at your leisure. Hopefully the same is true for D4N but I didn’t do VIP last year
Bodack Yellow will be the most lit song of the fest. Plus with them basically giving tickets away for a bag of skittles I doubt it'll be hard to get close for any shows.
definitely not the most "lit" song, surprised someone that would say that would even come to Day For Night honestly. "Lets get lit and go watch Tim Hecker" has never been said. But maybe you don't even realize the talent at this fest and actually think Cardi B is the best haha
Ya honesty w a comment like that, tЯist♡n , you should probably just not attend DfN. Go ahead. Pack it up. There’s always next year.
And don’t even think about going to Jamie xx, Tristan. You don’t deserve that Set.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

21 year old me would be fired up at what other sets people go too but 27 year old me is happy there's less people at the sets I attend and I'm just hopeful to beat the traffic afterwards. I've aged in dog years and I'm less of a fucking asshole I guess

Bummed about Solange not playing on Friday anymore. At least I saw her at ACL in October, though that was really great and I'd love to catch her again. That Jesus Lizard vs. Mount Kimbie conflict is vicious enough for me without adding Solange to the mix.
With that gap of nothing but Cardi from 7:10 to 7:30 the whole fest is going to have bloody shoes.

There is no traffic leaving. This isn’t like ACL or Jazz Fest. People park in lots 1-4 blocks away or Uber, taxi or bus it. Also because it drags on until 2, much of the crowd will be long gone when it ends. You’ll have no issues.
Abe, you weren't being a dick at all. You’re fucking excited and geeked up. I am too. I just got done packing and only have to remember my charger tomorrow am.

I was just joking and I'm ubering too and fro so I'm not worried about traffic even if it's non existent. Their instagram updates of the set up are getting me all hot and bothered though.

I'm gonna remember this fest for a long time. My girlfriend for 2 and a half years is coming with me, she's never been to a music fest before so I think this will be a weekend to remember!
Any last minute tips for Day For Night or Houston in general? Any really good places to eat that won't completely kill the wallet?
And is the Space museum worth it, I really wanna go.
I'm doing everything I can from Pretty Lights on to get up close for NIN, so it's a good thing the most lit song is going to be Phantom.
One of the older ones we will hear but Head Like a Hole will be outrageous too. Maybe we get lucky and get Terrible Lie or March of the Pigs. Terrible lie would be top one song for me if they play it. Only if Laurie played Sharky’s Day could that be more blissful for me. And hopefully PL plays Only Yesterday without free styling over it unless he’s gotten better.

I can’t speak to Houston and shit to do or eat there, but let her know that this one is very unique. So if she either really loves it or really hates it, it’s not going to be comparable to other festival experiences. This is a tripped out industrial environment with eclectic acts and a very diverse crowd of all types of people.

Yeah I've been trying to tell her stuff like that. She isn't "into" music like I am, she's a huge dancer (professionally, tap and jazz and modern) but doesn't know that much about music. Just listens to the radio or Pandora stuff.
I actually made a playlist on Spotify that has all the artists I'm interested in but I made it so it's easier to digest initially for someone that hasn't listened to NIN or Tim Hecker or Jlin or Thom Yorke haha

Head like a Hole is one of my all-time favorites and that will be a great one. We'll get March of the Pigs for sure. Can't really see them not playing it. Terrible Lie, I'm not sure. I've generally been trying to avoid setlist spoilers.
I understand that things change, and it's not all on them, but the quietly dropping things from schedule with no announcement kind of sucks. The solange thing is whatever, but GAS is big, really blows.

I don't know, man. GAS is still on the lineup that I'm seeing online. If he does cancel everyone will be at Pussy Riot if not checking the art exhibits. This may have all been an elaborate ruse. They advertise all of these exclusive music performances to lure us into the art exhibits.
