Jack White as the Sunday Headliner is very much in play. Just announced a tour with no Philly date and an open July.
I'd love this, but Jack White hasn't played Philly since 2002, and I think he's said that he doesn't want to play Philly again. This is technically Jersey but it's still considered a Philly-area venue.

Woah I've never heard that before. Did he explain why?

I think he didn't like the crowd or some other similarly pompous Jack White-y reason.
wasnt this 3 days last year just the third day there was no BBT shows?
i heard the JW rumor of hating it here before too, never heard anything real though. Something about having a bad crowd or some shit i think.
"Brotherly Love" really means "we all get that we're assholes, we deal with it, and defend our own". If he expected a drum circle and hand holding, he was in the wrong place.
The Wiggins Park lineup of the 2018 XPoNential Music Festival was rolled out today, and it will bring veteran singer-songwriter Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band to the Camden Waterfront this July, along with country breakout Margo Price, the Nashville trio Bermuda Triangle (featuring Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, Becca Mancari and Jesse Lafser) and returning festival favorites The Lone Bellow.
Also in the mix on July 27, 28 and 29 will be roots rockers Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real, Hiss Golden Messenger and JD McPherson; indie favorites Phoebe Bridgers, Sunflower Bean, Mondo Cozmo and Lo Moon; Afrobeat torch-bearers Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, who played the Wiggins Park River Stage in 2016; and New Orleans party rockers Tank and the Bangas, whose contagious energy won them NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert last year.
Locals on the lineup include funk band Swift Technique and power popsters Hurry, both of whom are making up for rained-out sets from last year’s festival. In the time since, Hurry has released a beautiful new album called Every Little Thought, via local label Lame-O Records.
Also in the mix are Courtney Marie Andrews, Mt. Joy, Jupiter & Okwess, and Devon Gilfillian. Three day passes for the festival go on sale today at 10; more information can be found at XPNFest.org. Below, listen to music from all of the artists on the lineup.
some good stuff on there. gotta see how the days shake out. Swift Technique is a great Lettuce-type band i saw open for Pigeons Palying Ping Pong last year. I might actually see them on Friday.
Anyone else going to the Xponential Festival in Camden, NJ this weekend? We'll be there tomorrow for:
David Byrne (BB&T Pavillion) Sylvan Esso (BB&T) The Lone Bellow (unfortunately overlaps with Sylvan Esso) Bermuda Triangle (w/ Brittany Howard) Lukas Nelson + Promise of the Real The National Reserve
A decent lineup and relaxing day for the money. This festival is an interesting "hybrid" event- shows on two stages in the adjacent park, featuring lower and mid-tier artists, and then 3-4 bands in the Live Nation-operated amphitheater. They usually feature several breaking and prominent local artists.
Imagine this business model on a larger scale, say for the Meadows Festival at Citi Field- breaking and mid-tier artists, many NY-local, on the festival stages, then Pearl Jam playing inside the baseball stadium. I'd go...

Let us know how it was!
One thing to consider though with festivals inside stadiums/amphitheaters: people end up hoarding the GA seats long in advance. It creates a very different vibe versus a free for all festival.

Anyone going have a good time. The Wiggins park aspect of this fest is awesome, but fucking BB&T is the worst venue in the world l in my opinion.TWOD and David Byrne are going to sound like shit.
he/they '12 - Firefly '13 - Firefly, Made In America '14 - Firefly, Made In America '15 - Mountain Jam (Sunday), Firefly, Pitchfork, Made In America '16 - Boston Calling, Firefly, Osheaga, Made In America, Roots Picnic NYC '17 - Boston Calling, Gov Ball, Firefly (Sunday), Pitchfork, Day For Night '18 - Boston Calling, Mountain Jam, Osheaga '19 - Form, Firefly (Sunday) '22 - Boston Calling, Firefly '24 - Solid Sound, Soundside
I emailed them a week ago and they replied courteously, but told me absolutely nothing- nada- about anything regarding the lineup announcement. Usually we have the BB&T headliners by now.
BTW Hozier has no Philadelphia tour date yet- I think he'd make a good headliner for this festival. Xponential usually gets some of Newport's artists the same weekend, so maybe there are some clues on the Newport Folk Festival thread.
We went to a day each of the last two years, and had a great time. It's across the river from Philly, with the undercard in Wiggins Park, and headliners in the adjacent BB&T. Crowd is chill, relaxed, and like a big picnic most lay down a blanket or beach chair on the lawn, leaving an open pit area for close-up viewing. There are opportunities to meet artists and WXPN personalities, too.
I think this is the least interested I've been in the Xponential Lineup. I've always wanted to go but haven't for various reasons, but this isn't the lineup that's gonna get me there.
