I know this is still a long ways away, but it's never too soon to plan for next year's Jam Cruise. Dates, ship, ports, and lineup won't be revealed until late April/early May. I just pre-booked for next year last week. I do find it weird that there are many that say that it's too expensive of a fest to commit for, however, there are like 15-20 peeps on here that will commit to One Big Holiday (also put on by Cloud 9)...I guess that peeps on here would rather catch three days of My Morning Jacket (along with a couple other bands) at an all-inclusive resort vs. five days at sea with two ports and many other bands. Different strokes for different folks it would seem. Anywho, I had a blast on this past Jam Cruise, and was fortunate to run into another Roo'er almost everyday. Hope more of you would be interested in this fest and can commit.
It is on my bucket list. One of my buddies goes every year and always tries to convince us. The cost is a bit prohibitive (do I do this or 4 or 5 domestic fests). Next year may be a year that I limit my travel and fest going so will definitely be looking into this.
Can't wait!!! I have always gone with my brother, but this year he will be starting school and therefore I will be going solo. While I have done a lot of fests solo, this will be different in that Cloud 9 will set me up with a roommate...should be interesting!

Yeah, that's a pretty sick lineup. It's like all of the things I missed at jazzfest plus a couple of the highlights. It's a quick turnaround but I think is is my group's 2018 fest of choice
My buddy is us pushing hard to join him and his wife who have been going since the beginning. I dont think this is the year I can male it happen financially unfortuately.

Agreed. I don't feel like pissing through $3k, but chatter around the house is that people want to go. It's so fn early in the year though, and getting to Miami is a pain in the ass unless you fly which I generally hate flying.

January is perfect for me weather wise as I will be buried under 3 feet of snow and a cruise would be great but not perfect in that it is before tax time. haha. My buddy is pushing hard and the GF would go for it. Unless my next bonus is crazy think it is out though and will look to 2019.
Just got room 8516...no balcony, but at least I'm on the boat!!! Oh yeah, and my brother decided to get in touch with professors before the trip so now I won't be going solo. It will also be our fourth cruise, so that means we get our Repeat Offender robes! For those on the fence, you can make four monthly payments beginning on July 17 (a $250 per person deposit is required at the beginning though). All excited now that the room has been booked!

If I had flown into Nola, the total costs for this and jazzfest would be very close.

I figured I dropped a G on tickets, shows, booze, dining, etc. those two weekends. That wasn't actually all that bad considering what we were able to accomplish music, partying, drinking etc. wise. But yeah, having a free place to stay (which costs but it costs anyway) and then mitigated travel expenses can help. I'm looking forward to your review when you get a chance.

Yeah I'm still on the road. I'll definitely get to it soon
