Anyone planning on doing Oregon Eclipse in August? Found out about this fest a few months back, and was totally interested. They've announced a few stages of artists, but today's stage announcement has sold me...beats antique, cocorosie, sci, sts9, and a SHPONGLE set with raja ram to name a few!!! Anywho, this will be an amazing fest with a solar eclipse, too!!!
I've seen this slowly being dropped on reddit....seems pretty big after the mainstage drop with hundreds of other bands. SCI and STS9 both have 2 sets.

Those two bands have my heart, but a Shpongle Live set would have my soul! Also, while I've seen Beats Antique several times, they f'ing killed it on the last nite of Jam Cruise last month...of course the collaborations and being on a cruise added to the whole experience.

EOTO and Karl Denson are about the only two I recognize in Big Top, at a glance. I love both bands, and can't wait!
For sure. Rebirth is great. Current leader is Corey Henry who is also co-leader and trombonist for Galactic. It's straight up New Orleans street brass-funk. Heavy Pets is a cool jam band from South Florida. Barring a conflict, both of those acts are also worth checking out.
Pretty sure I've seen Rebirth at Voodoo a couple of times, and from what I remember they always bring it. There were a couple others I didn't mention, but I've had some to drink and had to spend time with my 8 month old Great Dane (she's a handful...especially being "trapped" in her crate.). Overall, the lineup is looking right up my alley. Only thing that is of concern is that it's a week long festival, and I just took almost a week off for Jam Cruise, so don't know that I can pull it off. Pretty sure I can wiggle my way to get it done if I so desire, though.
Hmmm, this actually looks pretty interesting. I'll be probably 7 or so hours from this while up in Idaho. And since it looks like I have no summer festival plans, this might be the ticket.
It's held on 55k acres of private land that's surrounded by National Forest. So this thing should be running all night, no neighbors/noise ordinances to deal with. It's in an absolutely GORGEOUS area of the country too, seen lots of pictures from that area.
Don't know most of the artists listed, but a live Shpongle show is a MAJOR draw for me. Looks like it's electronic heavy, so along as I can find some techno/house/minimal I should be good to go.
Thanks for the heads up!
Here's the posters with the different stage lineups:
I took the plunge and bought my ticket. I have a feeling this is going to be something too good to pass up. I wanted to get weird for the eclipse, can't think of a better place to do it.
Hopefully there will still be tix available in about a month in case I can't purchase in two weeks. Def gonna make this happen somehow!
On their FB page, they say they're going to stop selling tickets at 11 pm tomorrow evening. This is apparently the third and final tier of tickets and they demand is higher than they expected.
They say a very limited number of "Trailblazer" passes will be available Fri and that you'll have to complete an adventure to purchase tickets. I have NO idea what that means.
Tickets are transferable, so you might be able to pick one up from someone closer to the fest. But considering how many were sold before the lineup, I don't know how many tickets will be on the market.
They do offer a payment plan, $170 down now. If you really want to make this work, you probably need to act soon.
I'm guessing I'm gonna have to sell my iPhone 6 Plus tomorrow to be able to make the payment plan down payment. The phone is just sitting in a drawer waiting to become useful...this is prob what it was meant for, lol
Whoop whoop...officialy in!!! Was on a payment plan since back in Nov, but problems with my bank kept me from making two payment plan payments, so I thought my order had been cancelled. I got in contact with Tixr and they stated that as long as I paid the back payments, I would be able to keep my payment plan going. Also, I still have my iPhone 6 plus all snuggling with a bunch of crap in my drawer...waiting for another rainy day. So, yeah!!!
Sorry for the third b2b post, but looking at the FB page for this makes it seem like it's gonna be the Solar Eclipse event that shouldn't be missed! Of course, I'm not on any other social media besides FB, but the want for this event is crazy!!!
EDIT: Also, saw somewhere that Alex and Alyson Grey will be there as well!
Ya, Alex and Alyson Grey are doing the Visual Art immersive camp that is the 3-5 days before the actual event. I assume they'll be sticking around for the whole event as well, can't see them missing the eclipse.
I'm pretty excited for this, going to be a great time!
We've got our tickets and flights booked, can't wait! No neighbors for something like 16 miles....should be music going 24/7 except for during the eclipse
I'm doing mostly the full run, showing up when gates open on the 17th and then leaving sometime on the 23rd. They said they are going to have music still going into the evening/night on the 23rd so ill probably miss a few acts. I read somewhere that the organizers said to think of the music in a bell curve. With more music and bigger names in the middle of the week, and lesser names and sets on the ends
Will be interested in how this crazy thing turns out.
It's going to be an experience I won't forget, that much I can guarantee.
Not getting a schedule until we get to the gate is a bit frustrating for me, but oh well, I've accepted it at this point. I expect a long wait in line as well. Access to the site is along some long and winding Forest Service roads.
The amount of art installations/structures/cool shit looks to be off the chart by looking at the site map and what they've posted. I guess that's one of the big perks of a collaborative festival, all the partnering festivals are bringing their individual art teams.
It's been extremely smokey here due to wildfires, but it seems like it's been clearing up these past few days. Clear skies for the eclipse would be amazing.
There's no cell service there, so I'll be going dark tomorrow until Tuesday evening. I'll be sure and take some pics and give a detailed report when I fully recover.
Time to get some rest and finish the packing tomorrow.
