I try and overlook the cringeworthy first verse and it's not so bad. The beat and piano with that chorus are fun.
I'm not a big fan of the piano and that feels like Jack Antonoff's work, so I'm a little nervous about the album. I really like the song after two or three listens, though.

It's fine. Nothing special.
I do think it's pretty funny that people on this thread mostly aren't into it, but on the Coachella thread they've already convinced themselves it's pretty awesome! Wish I could see Lorde at Coachella where she'll be amazing and not lame old Roo ):

New single...liking this new direction...really hoping she has the Florence spot on Sunday
That spot is guaranteed. Lorde is even copying Florence's festival bookings from 2015... subheadliner at Coachella, GovBall and Bonnaroo, and headliner at Osheaga, presumably Lollapalooza, and at every other festival going forward.
New song is lame btw. And this is from someone who really dug Pure Heroine.
It''s a catchy pop song. I hope this new album is better than this single. That said I'm excited to see Lorde again. Her show is entertaining.
My feelings exactly. At first listen I was a little taken aback but I gave it a few more and it's good, but not great. I still have high hopes for the album.
Honestly, I think that "Green Light" would've been way better if it was a Sia song, but regardless, that piano house bridge drop is so...disappointing.
New single called Liability. I like it more than Green Light but it's far from inventive. Pretty piano ballad nonetheless.
This sounds off to me. Something about the production on her voice doesn't mesh with the music itself. I'm scared this album might be a disappointment, neither of these tracks grabbed me like 400 Lux or Glore & Gore from the first album.
