The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac are the two biggest legacy acts on the market?
Aside from who played Dessert Trip, Springsteen, and U2, easily. Also I'd say they are bigger than the 3 opening Dessert Trip acts as well. Edit: oh and GnR

This Festival is going to be on July 8th and 9th. They won't do this on July 4th weekend, The Mets are home the weekends of the 15th and the 22nd, and AEG has Panorama on the 29th.
Saturday, July 8th Fleetwood Mac Eric Clapton Eddie Vedder
Sunday, July 9th The Eagles Guns N Roses Robert Plant

GnR are in France on the 7th and Austria on the 10th... No way they come over here and then back to Europe a day later.... Clapton has Garden dates in both March and September. Plus if he were playing hed probably headline over The Eagles. I doubt he plays this either.

Yeah quite frankly these are all just a stab in the dark. There aren't as many old people left as you'd think.
Saturday, July 8th Fleetwood Mac Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (although hard to believe Bruce would ever agree to do an NY show and not headline). Eddie Vedder
Sunday, July 9th The Eagles Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Robert Plant
Not LiveNation its AEG/Goldenvoice... Guessing this is replacing Desert Trip?
All reports point to this being a Live Nation venture. Where are you hearing it's AEG? Makes no sense for Azoff to let his two biggest clients walk to directly to the competition.

Say hello to a new name this festival season: Classic East—organized by Coachella creators Goldenvoice and AEG—will take place this year at NYC's Citi Field. (The West Coast iteration, Classic Wes, will be hosted at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.)
Ah I see, Billboard says its LiveNation and MSG in a combined venture... Theyd probably know better. Guessing Time Out got it wrong.
Yeah Timeout definitely got it wrong. All reports referenced AEG and Desert Trip as the "model" so the Timeout writer probably got confused and hastily cranked out a post.

Oh if this is LiveNation then I can definitely see them putting it the same weekend as Panorama.
It would actually be smart to. This will sell out in a heartbeat regardless, especially since it'll be capped at 45,000-50,000 most likely. Not sure it'll make a huge dent in Panorama's target demo, but it could steal some customers and also take away some of the buzz.
Damn, that's weak. Maybe Desert Trip 2017 will happen after all? AEG lands Bruce, Petty, Stevie Wonder and a couple other geezers and all of a sudden we've got a coast-to-coast AARP festival battle. BRING IT ON!!!
Not that topping Desert Trip was likely but I feel like they didn't really get close. I don't think their names carry as much power as Desert Trip's names do

for the openers def not. But Eagles and Fleetwood Mac I'd say are just a hair under the main three pulled off by desert trip
