Hall and Oates announced the HoagieNation Festival on May 27 at Festival Pier in Philly. Obviously headlined by Hall and Oates who are joined by Tears for Fears, G. Love & special Sauce, Allen Stone and more.
I went as well, although I didn't show up until 15 minutes into tears for fears set (which is a bummer since they opened with everyone wants to rule the world). Easily the oldest festival crowd I've encountered, which is fine by me since I'm in my 30's now. But overall a very cool, affordable (groupon) festival, although the undercard was basically worthless.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
i was there at 3 and i disagree the under card was solid. I love Allen Stone but was a bit disappointed he didnt have his band, he was still enjoyable though. G Love killed it and i didnt know who Marah was but they ended up my fav set of the whole thing. I knew nothing about Tears for Fears either and the were also great.
ill be going back to this assuming tickets are offered for 40$ again. I love Fitz and Hall and Oates were terrific last year and screw you all i wanna hear Drops of Jupiter live! This was very well run last year and easy to get a good spot until about an act of 2 before the stage closers. i just wish they wouldnt let in the lawn chairs, it clutters so much shit up especially early in the day with people just marking their spot.
