Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
For the most part, I only encountered rude dudebros in the campgrounds. Our neighbors last year brought a speaker that they would blast shit like DJ Snake on at the crack of dawn every morning. Luck of the draw I guess.
I agree. I don't recall one unkind or rude person at all really, and I went to the Sahara a few times over the weekend.
This makes me think most people who complain about the crowd haven’t actually attended.
The complaints of the crowd arent that they're rude/obnoxious though, it's that they're self absorbed and uninterested in the music. As far as festival stereotypes go, I found this to be pretty true. It didn't affect my experience much though

Like I said it wasn't bothersome, but if the Lolla stereotype is drunk teens and Roo's is faux hippies, Coachella's being basic people that are there for the Instagram likes didn't seem off to me at all. I'd never seen girls wearing heels at a camping festival before.
It’s pretty common to encounter “basic people looking for Instagram likes” at most places large amounts of people gather at this point. Especially when they’re on vacation or at a cool event. I don’t think that’s exclusive to Coachella.
In my experience most of the people I met were pretty passionate about music.

This isn't even limited to music festivals, but people care wayyyy too much about what other people are doing. Who gives a fuck. Unless it's directly having a negative impact on you shrug your shoulders and move on with your god damn life.

Half the people at roo last year fit that description. People just love to make up shit to feel superior.

Agreed, but also a show is a whole lot more fun when the whole crowd is into it than when half the people are only partially paying attention.

Yea that's generally true, but it's hard to have 80,000 people all on the same page these days.

The only time I’ve encountered this is when the disinterested people are waiting for the next act.

But the fact is that more often than not, it does have a direct negative impact...

I think telling other people to just "get over it" in regards to social anxiety and the stresses that come from being in large groups of people is extremely short sighted, and callous. While it might be easy for one person to say "fuck it", for others it's a very real feeling, and like it or not it's a lot harder for them to change that part of themselves than just snapping their fingers.

I assume you’re not taking about my post, because there is a pretty big difference from what I said and social anxiety.

It's mostly about yours, yes. In the context of "you shouldnt' care if people are checking their phones", it has validity, but when it comes to the people around you impacting your concert experience, it's not valid.
I’m all for getting some cool pics. Photography is art too. I mainly go to festivals for the music but when I’m in a place as beautiful as Coachella, I’m gonna snap a couple pics for Insta in my down time.

That’s where the “unless it’s directly having a negative impact on you” part comes in. See... I covered all bases.

Still waiting for my apology (not really) from Katy Mae calling me short sighted and callous. Clearly unwarranted. I hate when people feel the need to needle through your post/words to interject their "well you didn't think of THIS persons feelings" type shit when it isn't even valid. As if I would try and say people with social anxiety should just "get over it".
