Sunday- Kolsch>Peggy Gou>Taloboman Princess Nokia Lion Babe
The food was the best it’s ever been. Every show I was at had a great crowd - even at the main stage on Saturday; and the only time it felt crowded was while we were leaving Beyoncé.
It was a fun weekend, but I can’t say it was my favorite Coachella. The heat on Saturday and Sunday was crippling. One of our group broke her foot Friday night. Another one had a severe allergic reaction to the grass. The chaos of camping being delayed really sucked a lot of energy out of me, and I found myself napping during a large chunk of each day because of it.
I think my camping days are numbered. I’m seriously considering going the Airbnb route next year.

Fleet Foxes seem like kind of a weak example of a rock band for me. A Perfect Circle are also kind of a bummer overall.
Can't really blame Coachella for that, though. Rock just isn't that popular of a genre right now. They at least booked Portugal, who are a big, charting rock band who kick ass live. It seems like they did ok with the undercard, also.

Man what a weekend. Thursday camping was a total shit show. We hopped in line around 12 and got through security around 3, which I didn't think was too bad all things considered. After getting through, we were happy to find out they WOULD be allowing cars to pull off the the side and wait for their friends. They initially said they wouldn't allow this because of the delay. Once we pulled to the side, it was a complete clusterfuck. It was basically a parking lot with cars faced in different directions, people honking, yelling at each other, etc.. there was no staff anywhere to be found so people were getting out of their cars to direct traffic. Eventually someone took the initiative and just drove to the gate and parked. About 500 more cars, including us, followed. We parked and set up camp before we could be told to move. it was 6:30 a.m. by this point so we were pretty much exhausted. 2 different horse cops came by and said to move. I told them I would gladly move my car if I could be directed by staff to the place I need to go. The staff never came so we never moved. Ended up 100ft from the silent disco.
It's weird because after you are there and camped, you quickly forget about madness of getting in. This was my 4th Coachella and definitely my favorite. Each day seemed to be more amazing than the previous.
Top 5: Soulwax Jamiroquai Beyoncé David Byrne BROCKHAMPTON
Fleet Foxes and A Perfect Circle being not that impressive of shows? I wasn’t at Coachella was it bad for both of them? I’ve seen APC love and their set was absolutely amazing, better than one of the two times I’ve seen Tool. I even see Maynard played his new songs, lucky. I haven’t seen Fleet Foxes but I’m about to at Shaky, but I’ve only heard great things about them live and I love everything by them

I had a great time this year. This was my first year doing weekend two.
A few thoughts:
1. Overall, crowds were fine. Yes, it was a bit crowded going between the Sahara and the Main, but the rest of the grounds were very easy to get around.
2. Personally, I love the new Sahara location. I only went in there a few times, and it was mostly to kill time. So, to me, I loved having the Sahara crowd quarantined in the corner. Also, did anyone else see the giant hornet's nest stage right on Friday? Police had it taken care of relatively quickly, but that could have made for an interesting time if it went undetected longer.
3. Yet again, Coachella is insanely easy to get up close for acts that require more than a laptop.
4. Loved the art installations, especially the tower. Glad to hear that is the first multi-year installation.
6. Love the Sonora. Great place to drop in for a few minutes and catch some acts.
7. Top 5 acts: Soulwax, David Byrne, Eminem, Beyonce, Carpenter Brut
1. Soulwax - They absolutely murdered that tent. non stop firepower from open to close. 2. Oh Sees - Finally got to see these guys after trying for a while. It was awesome that they got a night time slot, the Sonora is a gift for giving smaller bands that opportunity. I think anyone that says rock is dead at Coachella is just looking in the wrong places. John Dwyer is a rock god. I woke up Sunday feeling like I got hit by a train after this set. 3. David Byrne - This was so awesome. Byrne's band is great, he sounds great and he played a great setlist. This may have been higher is he ended with Psycho Killer instead of that Janelle Monae police brutality song. 4. Talaboman - THEY DROPPED THIS RELATIVELY OBSCURE CHROMATICS REMIX THAT I'VE BEEN OBSESSED WITH FOR LIKE THREE MONTHS
5. Motor City Drum Ensemble - Disco party, I left briefly to try to check out the end of Cardi, took one look at her insane crowd and headed back to the Yuma. Also just want to point out that the Yuma is legit the best stage at any fest I've been to. The crowd in there is always dancing their ass off and the added visuals this year made it even better. 6. Brockhampton - This is one of those bands I've been hyped about since they were tiny and it was a trip to see them with a massive crowd rapping along to every word that couldn't even be contained in their tent. It made me a little emotional, they also were great, seemed like they fixed most of the issues they had weekend one. Proud dad moment.
Other good stuff: Beyonce, Jamiroquai, Jean Michele Jarre, Moses Sumney, Avalon Emerson, Black Coffee, Jamiroquai, CHIC, Yaeji, Jungle, Kolsch (he played the newest DJ Koze song), King Krule, Michael Mayer.
I know this is mostly just due to the sets I went to, but I was in some of the best, most fun and danciest crowds I've ever been in which made every set even more fun.
Glad you had a great time at Oh Sees. I was going to go there after a couple Fleet Foxes songs, but they sounded so great I stuck by even though I've seen them twice. Oh well!
