Day late but the after shows and schedule just dropped.
After Shows: Kaytranada @ the BK Masonic Temple on Aug 25th Gal Dem @ Babys All Right on Aug 25th
BBZ at Babys @ All Right on Aug 26th "Punk Show" @ Cmon Everybody
Schedule is only available in the app. I am only going for Sunday; and to be honest this schedule is pretty lame. All the big artists are all staggered on top of one another making some hard choices
Janelle Monae 7:30 - 8:30, Twin Shadow 8:00 - 9:00, Tyler, The Creator 8:00 - 9:00 is quite the cluster.
Also, Duckwrth playing so early is kind of a bummer. I really wanted to check him out; and it looks like I have to get there right at gates to make it and then its pretty dead for me. Ah well. I'll make due.
My schedule: Duckwrth > Gabsoul > Jamila Woods > Fantastic Negrito > Denzel Curry > Nakhane > Jacob Banks/Black Pantera > Mahalia > Ibeyi > Janelle Monae > Tyler, The Creator (partial) > Erykah Badu
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
That ain't good. Googling this post lead me down a rabbit hole of other issues from this past year, including a couple being thrown out of VIP over a t-shirt.
Just saw that the Atlanta lineup has N.E.R.D, Kaytranada, Death Grips, Pusha T, The Internet, Noname, and a bunch of other great artists. I feel like their marketing isn't very good if I'm just now finding out about this. Their first year in Atlanta had so much potential and a really stacked lineup. Unfortunately the entire thing was canceled because of a little bit of rain. Since then it's been more of an art show with a couple big artists, but this year's lineup seems pretty stacked. It's on the same weekend as Brockhampton though and I already got tickets for that. I'd like to maybe go on Saturday but they're selling day tickets without a daily lineup...

From what I can gather, Death Grips will be Saturday since they're at Desert Daze on Sunday and Pusha T will be Sunday since he's at Treasure Island on Saturday, which is a bummer since if they were on the same day I'd just go for that. I think I saw somewhere N.E.R.D. is on Sunday, but I have no clue where and might've pulled that out of my ass. They sent an email saying day by day is getting announced this week though.

I see posters everywhere for this. I’ll probably go Death Grips day.

Well I'm uncool and live outside the perimeter so I don't see posters for anything ever. I saw that N.E.R.D was on the initial lineup a few months ago but I don't remember Pusha T and Death Grips being on it. But yeah I'll go on Death Grips day. Brockhampton and Death Grips should make for a fun weekend.

I'm pretty annoyed that seeing Death Grips will mean missing Denzel Curry/City Morgue at the Masquerade on Saturday. Either way, between A3C and this, early October is going to be a hell of a time for rap shows here.
Judging from past years' threads, it doesn't look like Afropunk gets a ton of attention here, so I didn't bother starting a 2019 thread... but the 2019 Brooklyn lineup is officially out tomorrow. It was posted earlier today on afropunkfest.com/brooklyn/line-up/ though it looks like they've taken it down since then.
I had texted my friend the top 10 names before they took it down: Jill Scott, fka twigs, Kamasi Washington, Leon Bridges, Gary Clark Jr, Santigold, Danny Brown, Goldlink, Toro y Moi, Death Grips
