We've had five challenges in 114 picks, including one for billing David Byrne as a Taking Heads tribute show and all have been upheld. I don't think that's near as litigious as the Band Draft.
Tool and APC have both been drafted - isn't that the prededent?
Completely different situation. Tool / APC / Puscifer all consistently tour with at least 2 of the 3 touring in any given calendar year. APC and Tool both have shows scheduled for 2017. Gorillaz / Blue / Albarn do not tour on the same consistency level. Albarn generally focuses on and tours one project at a time and he is currently focused on Gorillaz. There is no expectation or news suggesting Blur will be active in the near future, let alone active in the US.
I guess Portishead and Massive Attack shouldn't be draftable either. D'angelo? There are plenty of drafted acts with no upcoming shows/shows in the US and no reason to believe they'll tour here.

I took Portishead off of my board because I didn't think that they were realistic.
I wonder if the results for this are going to be consistent with those of Atoms For Peace...
Hopefully not, since we got Atoms For Peace wrong.
I don't think we did.
With Radiohead off the board, I don't think that a band featuring the most prominent member of the band should have been allowed. The deal was exclusivity.
I also still think that that could be waived for draft compensation.

They have a tour date listed. They haven't been very active but every summer they play shows in Europe. So the big deal would be getting them to come to America. Blur is less realistic because Gorillaz is active. Both won't be active at the same time.

Did you say anything when those groups were drafted? I don't disagree, however, the groups that are dependent on a specific artist from another group are easy to resolve because if that artist is unavailable, then they can't play.
Maybe people need to do a little more research before they select because if you select something iffy, the next draftees should be able to coninue while that iffy pick is getting resolved and that would force everyone to think a little more before making a pick knowing alternative picks could get selected

And Atoms for Peace require Flea from RHCP to be available and RHCP is currently active. AFP is an easy exclusion.

No, because I think these should all be fine. Don't try to blame snoke. I wouldn't have thought Blur would be an iffy pick at all. If you guys are going to challenge everything then the game will have to pause for each challenge.

AFP toured in 2013, so did RHCP
AFP released their 1 album in 2013 and toured behind it. Radiohead was inactive at the time so Thom was available. AFP has not released any new music or toured since then and there's no indication that either would be happening. Add in RHCP and Radiohead being currently active, they are a no. Not sure how this is difficult.

So why have plenty of other inactive acts been picked and you haven't complained?

I didn't complain or ask for a poll on any bands. But when others do, I do a little reasearch to see how valid a pick is and then make a vote. I research all of my selections before I draft to ensure no issues will arise.
Personally, I don't think the draft should be held up for a poll. If you take an iffy pick that requires a poll, the draft should be able to continue and the draftee that gambles by taking an iffy pick would run the risk of additional artists being selected that they could have taken instead.

I like this a lot, except for the fact that I have an iffy selection coming up in a couple rounds.

Part of the issue is that everyone is going by their own criteria for voting. Some people think exclusivity extends to any act with overlapping members, others don't. However, if the precedent is supposed to be that the owner of the drafted act has to give you permission to have the member (I don't agree with this, but whatever) krisplettuce drafted Jack U seemingly in order to block anyone from drafting Skrillex, Major Lazer, etc, so I don't expect he would be cool with this regarding his #1 pick.
And then, some think it depends on whether the artist can be expected to play shows in the next couple years, which is mostly a subjective opinion. This includes me. Blur played shows in 2015 and are a legitimate band that's been around forever, so I think it's reasonable here.
The drummer for Portishead is touring with Radiohead.
Well I already said they were off my board.
I guess my take is whether the offending band member can be replaced without diminishing the product.
If you went to see Soundgarden and Matt Cameron wasn't drumming for them, you probably wouldn't be too upset. I you went and saw the Roots and ?uestlove wasn't there, you might complain.
In general, though, I favor a strict interpretation of the exclusive tag.
