Just Ozzy, I think? I just put Sabbath in my rankings for gigs.
Flyer that leaked. Its Ozzy. But I bet you that gives him flexibility on being able to bring out Sabbath during the set . If he doesnt then no harm no foul
Hmm - not sure I can justify inflated Coachella-lodging pricing and what I'm sure will be nuts pricing on tickets for that lineup.
Think they should have deviated from the Desert Trip format and had a second stage with acts like Turnstile and Knocked Loose in the afternoon and maybe one larger sub-headliner before the two headliners. There won't be many chances to see Ozzy any more but it just doesn't have the oomph

Not interested in being on COS or Hits Daily Double and wouldn't burn my source by spilling it anyway because he asked me not to. Just trying to help people out getting a head start on housing before it quadruples. I'm about 90% sure my VRBO will get cancelled once the owner hears of the event anyway and realizes they're missing out on an extra 15k, so cheap hotel is the backup.

FWIW I was told Sabbath 2 weeks ago, and that it was supposed to be billed as their last show ever. Apparently fell through last week so they fell back to Ozzy solo.
Is this really going to sell that way? Besides AC/DC and Ozzy these acts have been everywhere the last few years.
Metallica is playing 2 sold out shows at SoFi. GnR have toured the last 2 summers in the US, including another tour this year.
If this is priced high, with the cost of housing out there, does this seem like the right demographic? How did the Big Four show sell?
The OG Desert Trip artists toured too and wasn't impossible to catch. I think it's more about being able to see all of them in one place during one weekend. Getting names this big at one event is pretty rare, much like Desert Trip. You'd probably have to go way back a couple of decades when these artists weren't mega huge to find them all on one bill.
Im sure there will be some cool posters by artists at the fest. And maybe the merch store reprints some vintage stuff from all the acts and such. Now to see the public reaction and how they will treat the set up on the fields. Like will it be seen as a cash grab or like the ultimate rock event.

Anyone else feel like Tool were brought in as a sub for some other band? Feels like they don't really fit within the era of music everyone else represents? I don't know who else would be able to be put in, but i dont know. Just a thought.
Definitely not the ultimate rock event since you have festivals like Hellfest that do this same type of line up every year but with way more acts.
Sure, if you want to travel overseas and deal with a huge exhausting festival with multiple stages, which a lot of people don't want to deal with all that. There is a big enough crowd willing to pay money to have the luxury of seeing the biggest names of metal and hard rock on just one stage. Hellfest may have a bigger and deeper lineup but this offers bigger headliners than festivals like that can get and that's all some people care about. Power Trip isn't for your typical festival-goer.

Oh, agreed with all of that. The allure of the original Desert Trip was that, yes, all these massive bands do tour often but rarely if ever together or since the 80s. The fact that you have Wimmer fests then all the massive European fests weakens what would have been a massive rock event imo. A Black Sabbath last show ever definitely would have made this real special.

Agreed, they kinda have an odd fit there but at the same time, I can't think of any other metal/hard rock band that's bigger than them to put on here (aside from Black Sabbath who probably wasn't an option for them).
I'm likely going to this but much like Coachella, pretty much guaranteed that secondary market will end up quite a bit cheaper than face so no way I would buy in the general sale. This has market tank in September written all over it, especially if they try and charge DT1 level prices plus inflation.
Current me doesn't love-love any of these acts anymore but younger me had a lot of good times associated with enough of their songs. I've got a cheap hotel room reserved and if tickets do crater on secondary, I might just go.
