I'm just a hater. PTM was definitely one of my favorite shows from roo 09. I liked PTM and roo a lot more back then. I didn't even go this year.
That roo show in 09 was amazing. I went in not knowing who they were, got front row on rail and was blown away with their jams and talent as musicians. Why do you hate PTM now tho? I can understand if it's them being a more pop group now.
I was already a fan but that 09 show was my first time seeing them. I was so into it I didn't realize that storm was happening. I've talked about it a few times already, but yea don't like the direction they've gone in. I was talking to my wife about it, it's mostly their personalities and how they present themselves. They have completely changed. I actually still like the songs, I haven't listened to the entire album yet but I liked the singles. They ran the songs from the last album in the fucking ground though.
Might be considered a scrub, who cares lol, but I was only at PTM for about 15 minutes and wasn't feeling it from underneath the This Tent sign, if I had been in the crowd I could have definitely gotten into it but wasn't feeling like fighting the crowds. Walked over to the Other with my friends and that's were I discovered easily one of my favorite surprise acts, Claude VonStroke. Totally blown away, not even a big edm fan personally, but gah dang I could rage to that and have been listening nonstop since.

Yea, they went from Alaskan hippies/hard working hipsters too punk hip pop something? I'm not sure why they felt the need to change their whole personality and the way they present themselves. I blame Danger Mouse.

It's the oldest cliche but I blame the major record label and the success.

Once you listen to Woodsto in full I'm curious what your thoughts on it are. I think it's their best set if songs since In the Mountain. Although it's really uneven. So as an album it doesn't flow but each song individually is pretty great.

I found that the pre-headliner non-edm acts were the best. Mondo, twigs,xx,glass animals, chance, cage, lorde. Much more exciting and engaging with the crowd

While a lot of people may think of what they have done as a crass play at a more mainstream audience, I really like what Portugal the Man and Warpaint have done as far as expanding their sounds and incorporating some of a hip-hop/r&b influence. The one qualm I had with the Portugal set was that they didn't play Noise Pollution. I think that song is a jam.
And yeah, the PTM set is still on Youtube. It doesn't look like it's coming down. Someone posted mp3s of the show on the band's subreddit and Gourley was into it, so they seem to support the posting of all that stuff.
