That's a fair point, Todd. I don't know. And the fact that MMJ initially did not have two hours and only got it after fans revolted.. I don't think they care about their fanbase that much anymore.
MMJ with less than a two hour show is fuckin’ garbage and anyone who tries to books them fer less time, especially on The Farm, should be tarred and feathered and left out in the What field durin’ the middle of the day.

I'm not really sure about MMJ. Wouldn't they just end up with the same exact set time as the last two times they played? Or maybe even less time? With the way Bonnaroo is now I wouldn't expect them to give MMJ a late night set either.
I would assume they would land in a Sat/Sun Preheadline slot still...

Is it possible for them to redominate my mind hole, when I don't think they ever dominated it the first time?
I'm young enough for their first album to actually be pretty foundational for my music taste. They're probably one of 5 or so artists I would credit with pulling me into the "indie" world after being a classic rock nerd

I always have just seen them as a Flaming Lips knock off who got lucky with 3 hit songs nearly 10 years ago, suck live, and have not released anything worth anyone's time since.

That's a pretty fair assessment although I'll still argue that Congratulations is a criminally underrated record
For anyone who cares, looks like Anderson East will probably be on the lineup.
Just announced a big tour Jan-April that hits almost everywhere in the area except for Tennessee
He's got two Nashville shows on January 19 and 20 at 3rd and Lindsley. Not that I think it keeps him off the Roo lineup. Assuming they even bother to bring the BGS Tent back this year, he makes good sense for it.

Somehow completely missed those. But yeah, doesn't count him out. I'd say that putting those shows near the beginning of the tour when he's ending it in KY and NC still leads me to think he'll be there.

Saw MGMT this past summer at Mamby on the Beach (they headlined night one) and did not think they were overly fantastic. Everything just sounded really jumbled.

I’ve literally never heard a good thing about them live haha. I hope we don’t get them at Roo but I could see it with a new album.

Had a good time at their Osheaga set with a big, silly group of friends. My expectations were low going in
I’m digging it. Haven’t heard a single good thing about them live though.
I don't think they're nearly as bad live as people make them out to be. At least not since their first couple years of touring.
They play a bit more raw, which probably contributes to the reputation because people who going in expecting the poppy album production don't find it, but I wouldn't describe them as bad. Are they going to win people over with their performance? Probably not, they don't do much other than play their songs with fun outfits and psychedelic visuals. But if you're a fan you'd enjoy them. Unfortunately they'd probably end up with a shitty daytime slot at Roo and/or be conflicting with something more worth your time.

Exactly, its like people just want them to play Electric Feel and Kids ad nauseam. With that said, I haven't seen them. But watching videos I feel like I really would enjoy them already being a fan
I’ve always liked MGMT, I love Oracular Spectaular, album was great all the way through, Always enjoyed congratulations, and actually liked a good amount of songs off of Alien Days. Been always afraid to see them live thoughfrom people on here. I’ve seen that they don’t play kids some times or at least I think I’ve read that. I wouldn’t mind not hearing that live, but I hope to still see them one day. Hope they aren’t that bad live. Same reason I’m afraid to see Modest Mouse, I’ve heard they are awful live.
