Random question: is there an official curfew of 11pm at The Anthem? I remember this being the case at LCD Soundsystem back in October, but am not sure if this is always so.
The reason I ask is that I noticed the start time of Nick Cave/Cigarettes After Sex being 8pm, whereas other tour dates have it listed at 7:15pm. Thus, I would hope that if The Anthem does have a later time, that it would not affect the set length versus how long Cave will end up playing in the other cities.
Thanks!
Doubt it. I've been to a couple of shows that have blown past 11pm. The bands may have decided to just pay the fine but I doubt it

Their curfew is 11. My guess would be Cigarettes After Sex would be on till about 8:30. Then, there would be about a 30 minute changeover or so. Nick Cave would probably be on at 9 or so and go till sometime between 10:30 and 11. That’s just my guess.

See that's what strikes me as weird, because who's setting up the fine here? The owner, or the city? My understanding of The Anthem is that it's supposed to be sound proof.

Cave's 2017 shows lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. No guaranty if he's aiming for that same length this year, but I would not want to settle for less.
Decided to catch The Glitch Mob at 9:30 club on June 2nd. Their Roo set is going to conflict with at least two others so I figured knock them out ahead of time and all will be fine! Seen them 2 times before but never from beginning to end. We always have to leave or sleep or catch Metro.

Id imagine the Wharf development as a self enforcement measure. Umphreys McGee went way past 11 and their tickets were relatively cheap for an anthem show so I dont think they just paid a fine
Ive worked all but 2 shows(because I attended) at The Anthem and as far as I know there is no noise curfew. There have been numerous shows that have gone past 11 including Foos, Erikah Badu, Umphreys, and dark star orchestra. Shit even the New Years show went til almost 3am. But usually our weekday shows are over before 11:30.

Thanks for your input... I guess it must be related to ensuring that concertgoers don't miss the last metro back home.

Sick, [The National is] finally a good opportunity to pop my Merriweather cherry.
Just tried the FWB presale, but for some reason there is no option for GA pit (only reserved pavilion and lawn). I'm just going to wait and get a ticket at short notice in September, hopefully under face value.

Oh shit, that means you could arguably do a double-header of Belle & Sebastian and The Voidz on the same night, since The Anthem and Union Stage are so close to each other.

Anybody ever been to Atlas Brew Works for shows? They are booking various metal acts on Mondays (such as Bongripper in July), but the location looks like a pain.

Never seen a show there but it’s a good space and I could see it working well.
