Eighteenth Street Lounge signed a lease for a new space
The new space is bifurcated between two floors which will feature a bar on each level and likely two distinct music offerings like the previous concept, which housed multiple rooms with different music options. The main entrance will be found on 9th Street NW and will open up to access Blagden Alley. The second floor will feature a rooftop deck, keeping in line with the similar layout of the previous space. While remaining true to its original roots, Eighteenth Street Lounge will now incorporate a food component to expand its offerings.
All Things Go is one day this year and on Saturday October 16th. Looks like lineup is coming next week, but you gotta think St. Vincent is the headliner

Spoon has that date open, but a show in VT the next day so maybe a stretch

Looking forward to this! mid-October could mean awesome weather or hot sticky Indian Summer or random early burst of Arctic Air. Fingers crossed for the good stuff.

Just noticed that early bird Pavilion tickets for All Things Go are $129 + fees. The first tier for Firefly day passes was $145 in full, so that's pretty expensive for ATG.

yeah pretty expensive, but this is way better than any day of Firefly

Ehh, depends how you look at it. The Thursday and Saturday of Firefly both have enough interesting names as well as an arena-level headliner. So from a financial perspective, I'd argue Firefly offers a better deal.

well, yes, the best value of the festival year in terms of finances is getting a one day ticket to any festival where Billie is a headliner, as her tour next year is more expensive than any single day pass. I personally like this festival better than any one day of Firefly.

Tame Impala at Capital One Arena in DC is almost sold out, and resale tickets are crazy pricey. A single day Firefly ticket is a better deal there, just like with Billie.
But I'm glad you like ATG so much! I hope that Charli gets to close the second stage. That way, regular lawn ticket holders can see her up front as well.

The better comparison is what a typical Merriweather show runs you. MMJ is $96 for pavilion and $46 for lawn, so these prices seemed pretty reasonable to me.

yeah, this fest is essentially the same price as Outlaw Music Festival is. All Things Go has always run a bit expensive compared to the talent in question; it has always been like 65 bucks + fees a day. Now it's more, but instead of Melanie Martinez as the biggest name on her day, it's Haim with St Vincent and Charli as an undercard. It seems reasonable to me

i am pretty sure the first year (2014?) was like $50 tops, then it went up by quite a bit. that first year is the only time i've gone to the fest. it was also the first time i ever saw Future Islands (now have seen them like 7+ times lol) and didn't know anything about them, walked away a big fan after Sam stared me down in his typical theatrical while hip rolling across the stage in his tight pants. and Tove Lo very nearly got naked. these are the details i most recall hahah
definitely thinking about popping up to DMV for dis. have yet to see charli or st vincent live
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

A typical Merriweather show has the main act playing a full-length show though. With ATG, it's likely that all the acts will be playing abbreviated sets. I get that an all day festival will be more expensive than the average concert, but it's just that the day prices are at the level of those from the major fests with bigger names.

what have the set lengths been like in recent years of the fest? i remember in 2014 that Tove Lo got at least an hour and then Future Islands got almost two to close, but yeah, the earlier-in-the-day acts got like 30-45 min each

I forget (you can probably still find the schedules online), but I do recall now that Chvrches ended up getting the equivalent of a full set in 2019, so I concede that HAIM could get this as well.
