Some venue news in Richmond. It also looks like the Broadberry team has been on the roll with the Browns Island shows. It’s been pretty quiet on the VACU Live side of things.

mad quiet at the Raceway/Credit Union so far, I think Gojira-Mastodon is the only thing announced so far. That said this year looks to be shaping up super well in richmond

The National/VACU Live team has also been partnering with Broadberry on the Browns Island shows. They're showing up on The National's website as well.

There's a seating chart if you look at the Ticketmaster site. Not a setup I've seen at Merriweather before, but looks akin to All Things Go. Looks like there may be 3 different ticket levels: Left 3rd of the pavilion is VIP. Remainder of the pavilion (including the floor) is listed as GA Pavilion & Lawn. Then the usual GA Lawn section. This makes the appeal of VIP not clear. Maybe just having an assigned seat. I would guess they may rope off that back section of bars/bathrooms for VIP as well.

There is a upper tier on the left side for VIP with separate drinks and such. I would imagine the ground seats are all GA pavilion.

Yeah VIP seats at All Things Go were assigned on the ticket. Guessing GA seats would be first come first serve. Was nice for ATO going between two stages, but if everything here is on one stage then get there early if you want a seat.

thanks for this comment. that map is wild. I hope that it is true.
Being that boygenius is really the only act I'm interested in seeing, it's going to suck if VIP is the only way to get an assigned seat without getting there early and camping out all day.

Damn, it looks like the Orville Peck and The Smile shows are sold out. I guess I'll wait for the secondary market to hopefully dip.
I feel like The National shows have been selling out crazy quick lately. Tove Lo, They Might Be Giants, & Orville were all ones I wanted to go to. That + Belle and Sebastian cancelling + $90 Smile tics and I’ve been taking a lot of Ls at this venue this year. At least they have that decent built in resale platform now and are getting good shows.
That'd be tempting, I head down to Shaky Knees the following day and they play on Fri. SUPER pumped for YYY, never seen them. Do I just wait to see them there?
