How packed have these initial Atlantis shows been? Any tips? Best spots (looks like there is upstairs and downstairs?), how early to get in, bars, bathrooms, etc.. TIA!

The balcony railings are a great spot. It’s pretty small so the floor is good too, but I’ll throw out that you get a bottle neck on the floor when you’re coming from the door/main bar. If you can get in early enough that you can get past the center of the stage and over to the right side that’s the best set up (as long as you don’t mind the bees).
There’s also a cool rooftop there for between sets

echo everything here. right is nice if you are willing to politely push through via the back between sets

Awesome, thank you both! I'll be in a group of 6, so ideally we'll try and set up right side or hold down a railing. The rooftop looks awesome for setbreak, but we're seeing PtM and I don't think there is an opener? Any idea if the shows in the '44' series have been including openers? They all look like solo gigs.

And it's really not that hard to do along the back since the bathrooms are back that way.

Did anyone do the Avail Over The James festival last year? Trying to figure out approximately what time it'll end to see if I'd have time to make it over to Ember Music Hall by 11 PM for a Daft Punk tribute show lol. Seems walkable in 20-25 minutes.

Absolutely perfect split for me. All the groups I wanted to see ended up on Saturday! I would love to see Hozier again but this gives us an opportunity to do the festival Saturday, explore a little bit of Richmond Sunday, then head home.
I have an extra for The Struts at The Atlantis tonight. I’d rather not sell it on Ticketmaster as I’m trying not to have them report I had earnings this year. That shiz was a pain last year. If you’d like to meet us there by doors with 55 cash, you’re in!
One of my concert partners bailed on the whole week, so actually same deal for Living Color on Wednesday and Portugal. The Man on Friday, if anyone’s interested.
EDIT: Went ahead and sold the Struts ticket, but still have Living Colour and PTM.

How is it a pain? If you sell a $55 ticket for $55, there are no earnings and there’s nothing to report.

That's not how it works though. TM reports any sale to the IRS as income, then you have to demonstrate to the IRS that it was not income, with documentation. Went through this last year after a lot of fan to fan sales for Pearl Jam shows.

Yeah, there are some pretty fucked up tax laws surrounding stuff like this where there’s an income and also an expense (gambling is a good example), where you have to report the earning, but can’t write off the expense unless you choose to not take the standard deduction.
I don’t think they’ll give a shit about $55 though. If it was like $600+ worth of tickets you might have an issue…
Yes, it's not just the $165 from these three tickets. I've sold a couple other Atlantis tickets, and I'm likely playing the F2F upgrade game for some PJ shows in the fall, so trying to stay under that 600 annual total through TM. That's what prompted my original post.

If you hit the $600 threshold and Ticketmaster 1099-Ks you, that would not change the fact that you still did not earn any income. It's a very trivial tax matter if you have 1099s that represent no true income.
