Hey you guys remember last year when clowns just started appearing all across the country and chased people through the woods wielding knives and some of them got shot?
In this unlocked thread, the internet bitches about Live Nation:
“I HATE THIS PLACE and ITS OWNER: LIVE NATION / TICKETMASTER SUCKS!” Jun 27, 2016
I am a HUGE Jimmy Buffet fan and have never gotten to see him perform live, so when I heard he and Huey Lewis were sharing the bill in Chicago, I jumped at the chance. I bought the best ticket I could get at the top price level from Ticketmaster, which is owned by Live Nation, which also owns this venue. The ticket was $150.00 and the site also encouraged me to buy a "Premier Parking Pass" for $30.00 to be "assured" parking, so I did. Total cost: $190.00 I then drove more than 700 miles for what I thought would be the show of a lifetime. What Live Nation did to me after that can only be described as criminal: I arrived several hours early and partied like everyone else, left around 6:20 p.m. after assurances from employees that I could get back in on the same parking pass, which was not true but, either way...when I returned to the venue about 5-minutes after the show started (at 7 p.m.) THERE WAS NO PARKING! I told the attendants I would pay again to park - I didn't care - just wanted to see the show - AND I COULD NOT PARK SO I COULD NOT SEE THE SHOW!!! Live Nation oversold the parking lot - which is a huge field in the middle of nowhere farmland outside of Chicago. It is not as if i could go to another lot somewhere like in Philly or Baltimore. It is there or nowhere!!! So, people who paid 30-dollars to park but did not buy a ticket to the show sat comfortably in their collapsible chairs near their campers or whatever, AND I - A $150.00 TICKET HOLDER - WAS SHUT OUT!!! i went round and around with Live Nation, which obviously made its money off parking lot partiers - not ticket sales - and they would only refund my parking! When I asked a supervisor named Robin in their Pharr, Texas, location why I could get a refund on my parking but not my ticket when it was THEIR FAULT I MISSED THE SHOW BECAUSE THEY OVERSOLD THEIR PARKING, she told me, "Because we are refunding you what you paid us. The other money belongs to our client"! I said, "Which client? Jimmy Buffet?", and she said, "Yes". REALLY? I am sure Jimmy Buffet would love to know that Live Nation treats people who are too cheap to buy a ticket to his show better than it treats his die-hard fans! What they did is greedy, disgusting and despicable and I hope jimmy Buffet and all artists boycott having them sell tickets to their own venues. Anyway, that was my concert budget for the year, so I am SOL and will NEVER use Ticketmaster/Live Nation again. The fact is, had the venue and the ticket seller been separately owned, this would never have happened, or would have been rectified. I hope the Justice Department re-opens its investigation into this monopoly because, apparently, one class-action lawsuit wasn't enough.
"Ticketing companies (TICKETMASTER) owned by concert promoters (LIVE NATION) are lazy, shortsighted assholes who encourage the secondary market at the expense of their clients (the artists) and their customers (the fans) without any immediate repercussions, whatsoever. Tickets are sold, job is done."
I just bought what I thought would be a $65 ticket to Umphrey’s McGee for New Year’s Eve, and it ended up being $79.75. THAT IS RIDICULOUS! This is why I usually hate going to shows at the Tabernacle. It is absurd that a group of people in a company that make it seem like they are doing some justice for the music world by selling tickets to concerts jacks up service fees this much. You’re driving people away from the bands they love, LiveNation.

This was awesome. I ended up camping to avoid traffic and they did a great job. They had the campgrounds in a nice spot under some trees, in a grassy area, and had a sort-of water park there. All of the bands were awesome. We spotted Dave grohl stage side for trouble funk on Friday night. Foo fighters were great as always. They brought out Dave koz, Alison mosshart, rick astley, joe perry, and Liam Gallagher. For a first year festival, I would say they did a good job.

Had a look at the campgrounds on the way out and they looked great. Lots of fun I'm sure.
i had an awesome time too. Hot as hell out but my sombrero (the only large hat available at Walmart..) helped a bit. It was my brothers first festival too - he had a blast but was worn out and tired by the time Foo's came on.
Queens stole the whole show to me - unfuckingreal. They were the top of my 'must see' list and they exceeded all my expectations. Josh of course riddled off a bunch of awesome one-liners. Dude is my favourite human.
Liam looked like he was out of his head when he came up for Come Together. Got a good laugh out of that. Those I know who went said it was a blast.
It was pretty good to see him on good behavior earlier in the day, and then in full-on shit-show mode later in the night. I feel like we got the full Liam spectrum.
Nice job for a first-year festival, for sure - camping was excellent, weather wasn't too bad, good vibes from the crowd, & sound was on point. Plus, free carnival rides
