What makes you say this? I haven't done either in a number of years but I had great experiences at both and wouldn't really consider one much better than the other.
should clarify that i thoroughly enjoyed both, but i explained more above
I think you make some fair points. I don't think I had an issue with with day and night acts overlapping when I went in 2015 but maybe I just didn't care about the acts that overlapped.
I'm planning on just buying sonar and full primavera tickets, can always sell tickets later. Will be interesting to see what the ciutat concerts look like, hopefully there's some auditori stuff, but also planning on going up to basque country maybe see a friend's extended family if he joins. This is going to be ridiculous

How easy is it to sell tickets later? Esp. if I'm buying the tickets from the US

i think for prima it's really easy because they only let you buy and resell through the dice app.
Another thing to consider with Sonar is there are a ton of other parties and events happening in the city during the festival and in the days leading up to it. That can definitely add to the appeal but can also induce a good amount of FOMO.
yeah it would actually be insane to do all three because there would still be amazing shows happening the week between prima and sonar too
I think you would need a whole other week of vacation after Primavera > Primavera > Sonar just to recover.
Sonar has a wait-list signup for primary access to tickets btw
I feel like it's not gonna sell out immediately, so I'm holding off on those. Depending on where some of the names end up, I might just do 2-night pass instead of full festival too.
I’m really tempted to do both weekends, but at the same time, I’ll only have a month to spend in Europe, so this would eat into the time I could spend in other cities/countries.

Oh jeez this looks like it's going to be incredible. Always considered doing this and it may actually be in the cards for 2022. My wife and I had a big Euro trip planned for 2020 which we ended up getting a bunch of flight credits for that we have to book something with by next April. I'd probably be looking at W2 and then hanging out in Europe for another week or two to either go to Sonar or Copenhell. What's the lodging like for Primavera?

No camping, but it's Barcelona so there's all sorts of options.

Yeah, I just booked a room not too far from the fest actually. Gotta love those free cancellation/no prepayment required bookings.
I also just looked through Airbnb's and there are so many great options. Ooh if this W2 lineup is as good as I think it'll be, this is looking very likely for us.
