didnt they just add a bunch of acts
they dropped just as many, and the biggest addition was for W2, who have gotten almost every big addition at this point (phoenix, khraungbin, the smile, pinkpanthress, grimes dj set, now 2manydjs). massive attack aside, everything that has come out post full lineup drop has felt like W1 exclusive people been getting jipped.
Confident there will be at least one more if not several headliners added. The posters are very out of balance and I'm chalking this up to a bad PR move. They'll recover when people freak out over the next announcement. The fest is still a month away.

Unfortunately, it does not make sense from a marketing standpoint why they would release an updated poster and not have TBA banners over the artists’ names to get a big final push on hype for the fest. It’s either they are inept or they got nothing for us, and I feel like they aren’t inept building such a successful brand. I’m not optimistic, but I like to dream since Arcade Fire are willing to go over to London for a show 10 days after announcing to promote the record. Barcelona is not entirely unrealistic on short notice fwiw.

best case we get an unannounced surprise show from them but im guessing no new headliner replacement

That level of thinking is why I can't go on the Primavera Sound Reddit anymore. Yesterday was just globs of people simping for the brand and not accepting the writing on the wall that there will be no new headliner announcement. It makes zero sense to have a PR problem like this created for no reason if they had a solution

I still think Primal Scream doing Screamadelica makes so much sense, I'm guessing they're asking for a decent amount of money and Primavera don't want to pay anything. They're Massive Attack contemporaries and have shows in England the weekend before Primavera.
I understand not being able to find a headline level replacement for massive attack but it would have been nice to get someone with a similar vibe, like Spiritualized or Stereolab
Would also make up for the devastation of getting shut out of the Spiritualized show at the Auditori in 2018 (and I had VIP too).
You guys got a solid 1-2 days left to complain about this before you start doing yourself a disservice.
There is still way too much music on this poster to even come close to seeing all the talent within a 13-day span. MA probably would have played during someone else you really want to see - both weekends, move on.
