Confirmed new album this year and they've been rumored for Mad Cool for a really long time but they haven't been able to announce them yet so they may be making festivals wait for their tour announcement. Feels similar to Arctic Monkeys last year.

To me it’d be a strange hold up given that they played Bilbao BK last year. If the strokes were being super difficult I imagine they would end negotiations and go after someone else. After 2019 they aren’t that exclusive anymore.
Julian Casablancas is rumored to be going through a divorce so I imagine that he is playing with the strokes more to recoup some of the money he probably lost

- Actually, there isn't a headliner still missing. They're finalising some production deals with artists that are playing special sets exclusively for Primavera (Gabi teased orchestral shows).
- Gabi wants the lineup to be released before February. - "We are about to close what I think will be the best poster of all time in Primavera Sound"
