As far as I know, they notched up the line-up by mid-December so I disagree with the waiting-for-someone scenario. The idea was to release the poster in early/mid-December but I assume they changed their mind given it wasn't ready and focused on January, as they have done every single year bar 2017 and 2019.
Personally, don't see RATM here. Besides, zero European date thus far.
lizzo was in bits last year, I don't think a move to one of the main stages would be out of the question. You have a serious lack of women in that top 8. forgot about the strokes thing, hope we avoid them.
You're right about Lizzo but seeing that she's headlining Govs Ball and even Lollapalooza (?) she wouldn't accept a lower spot over here, right? And idk what happened over there but here stock over here hasn't grown that much. Disclosure played @ Pitchfork on 2013 and came back the next year closing Mordor but they're a different kind of act.
re: lack of women: as long as they keep the 50-50 thoughout the whole line-up they will pass. My two cents: kind of weird that 8 of the 9 big names are so clear. There's someone who's not playing and some Kacey Musgraves/Megan instead.
How are those 'so clear' lol. They're not.
Id say Tyler, Lana, Bad Bunny and Pavement are pretty much a given. But the rest?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

The National are a fav + they're bringing an old album. Unfortunately makes perfect sense for an aniversary.
Add Young Thug. Let's say it's a gut. But this year Nas was billed #5 so maybe he doesn't end up that high on the line up.

Gabi has proven time and again to be unreliable, but he literally said he had the entire lineup booked besides one name in like November.
Massive Attack - Tyler The Creator - Lana Del Ray - Lizzo - Bad Bunny Megan Thee Stallion - Pavement - The National - Thom Yorke Fiona Apple - Beck - Joanna Newsom
too top heavy probably
FWIW, Joanna Newsom is just a few rungs behind Sufjan on the ladder of "artists I'll go way the fuck out of my way to see"

I have no reason to think she'll be here other than wanting another highly billed woman for my mock.

And, again as far as I know, it was partially true. He wanted one more name, bu he wasn't talking about any headliner but a band/artist he likes. Simple as that. Whether they've been waiting for them or someone dropped in the meantime and they had to nail this last one + replacing a big name is something beyond my knowledge. Word is the line up was completed like a month ago.

Cardi B dropped out last year. Shell probably be back.
That doesn't really mean anything, if she's unavailable she's unavailable.
That's true but I thought she was set to release another album this year? So, a tour or a few festivals aren't that odd plus this was also in response to the few that there probably will be a lot less women on top.
Rina Sawayama teased 3 announcements for this week. Someone mentioned the possibility of one of them being that she's playing Primavera and she faved the tweet.

Let's see if we get an actual teaser tomorrow.
we’ve gotta get something this week anyway and I expect Rina to be on this lineup... but she liked all the first bunch of responses to that tweet so I don’t think it means much.
I think January 20 at 20:20 for the 20th anniversary. I’m convinced iii points is getting Frank as well and that lineup is confirmed for the 21st. They probably don’t want to battle primavera sound for headlines.
