do we want the same lineup 2x or differing lineups that'll make us want to attend both weekends?
The article seems to suggest they will be different or maybe I'm reading too much into when it says "across two lineups." I hope they are the same. If they are different one needs to have something absolutely amazing like Portishead to make me less sad about missing the other weekend.
I wonder what this means for Porto.

agreed, its a massive risk. the type of thing you wouldnt do if you didnt have to
If I didn't have a lot of money I would scale down. They clearly have access to some cash if they are scaling up.
thats not my feeling. My feeling is that they have burned through a substantial portion of the ticket money that they have held onto for two years. Now, they need new ticket money to float the 2022 production/artists fees since the only new money coming in pre-fest would be advertising money. Maybe I am off base.
Its going to be different line ups. Theres some acts that have tours around whats the normal Prima dates and they cant do both weekends so seems like they are truly going all in. I think they could be getting some money from Live Nation since they did have the partnership for the LA version. Gotta dance with the devil a little bit it seems.
I was planning on doing a week trip to Spain for Primavera next year anyway so that actually wouldn't be too bad for me. Seems like maybe weekend 1 will be 2020's lineup and second weekend will be 2022's? Very interesting to see how this works itself out
alright, thought about it and I'm excited. I usually get there like sunday/monday anyway so it would only be like adding 4 days or so to my barcelona time. probably head down the coast for a few days between weekends.

I'm curious if current ticket holders will have the option to choose weekends.
I think they would have to have line ups announced to have that be an option if they are different. Cant wait for their 10 paragraph explanation.
They are announcing the lineup/lineups on June 2 so I don't think that will be an issue. That is also the date when you can request a refund so I'm guessing you will also be able to select a weekend. Even if the lineups are identical I think they will give people the option.

Stranger things have happened and this is Primavera who keep thinking of new and random things to do with ticket holders. But its cool there is a line up date.
The thought of seeing Pavement one weekend then Portishead and NIN the next is getting me all types of excited.
why portishead
I believe that during the lead up to the 2020 lineups release the festival director said that they were trying to get them for 2021. This was pre pandemic so who knows if that is still the case.
