Live Nation just put up new dates for a Sebastian Bach US club tour that starts end of May 2021. Is this LN accountant footwork to sit on escrow money, does LN feel optimistic, do they know something I don't, or is Bach some kind of guinea pig?

He’s probably a smaller artist they can test the waters with. Also I imagine they have crazy thorough force majeure clauses

Gorillaz announced headlining June 2020 concerts recently around all the festival dates such as PS... I wonder if that optimism means something we don't know.

I'm curious how far Live Nation will go with number of times shows get bumped. When they inevitably bump April 2021 Eagles arena dates, they will be likely given a FOURTH set of tour dates. At least with Ozzy's US dates Sharon/LN scraped everything and hope to put up new dates when arenas/Ozzy himself are ready to do big shows again. Hollywood Bowl Ozzy show was first announced in late 2018.
I also wonder how long they will try to sit on tour money. Ozzy/Judas UK tour was first announced November 2019 and is now happening Feb 2022 - so 2.25 years. Coachella Oct 2021 will have sat on some weekend pass money since June 2019 which is also roughly 2.25 years.

probably a hope for best, plan for worst thing. especially with europe getting spikes. but it makes sense they'd be active following the album
Managers don't know anything more than we do so I wouldn't take scheduled dates as anything significant.
Live nation and their insurance adjusters have to approve the date windows. Some stuff will have dates bumped 4-5 times, but others like Glastonbury that can't be moved have invest money they don't get back.

Had a dream last night that Daft Punk was scheduled to have their big comeback performance at Primavera 2027 and I ended up going because I somehow found an apartment for 20 euros a night only a short distance from the park. Long story short when the show happened there was a huge light show before it started and then they announced Daft Punk would not be performing because “they already broke up? What did you expect” and the audience got really mad and stormed the stage Death Grips-at-Lollapalooza-2013 style. Also this entire thing took place in the Auditori for some reason
Tough one because of the september log jam already over here. And that would indicate they would have to keep a similar batch of acts together for 3 different weekends. Barca, Porto and potentially LA.

Bikini Kill and Tame Impala already have Sept 2021 dates in the US.

Yeah, except for how do you schedule Bikini Kill for 3 festivals if theres only 2 weekends open for them in Sept before continuing their u.s dates.

Bikini Kill are on the west coast US from Sept 2nd to Sunday Sept 12th and also have 9 outstanding Europe show built around Primavera Barcelona before Maryland US on Sunday October 3rd. 10 shows in 20 days with 2 transatlantic flights. In previous years I can think of 4 acts that tried Primavera/Sasquatch on the same weekend and ended up looking very tired at 2nd show.
Tame is Bonnaroo Sept 5th, South America Sept 10th, San Fran Wed Sept 15th, Primavera x2 in Europe, then Toronto Oct 4th.
Has there been any sign of life that Primavera LA is happening? If fests happen late summer it's going to be a traffic jam and promoters might get creative with special mid week day lineups or even putting 2nd line acts on at noon so they can fly to another city for a night show.
At this point you have to think that if these fests happen in september they will be scaled down and probably won't feature many, if any, acts from outside of europe.

Yep, I know RW is gonna be scaled down and (US) headliners like RHCP and PJ will get moved over to '22. Idk about the rest.

Reading/Leeds UK sold passes this week to fans thinking they are seeing QOTSA 6 months from now. Ditto Post Malone.
Heard RW, PS and Roskilde are gonna put their heads together to help each other with their line-ups for a september edition.
Has there been any indication that Roskilde would also move to September?
Not really. Denmark always seemed like a front runner on their vaccination strat and laws surrounding the vaccination-passport (which the EU kind of introduced this week that they want EU-citizens to be able to travel within the EU this summer) and one of the safest bets on actually making it on time but yeah.. I just saw some intel being posted on Efest.

Not yet, but PS will have to say something eventually. It also falls on LN if they want to even put it on since thats who they partnered with. Even if some acts tried some crazy flights and such, the covid logistics are what you have to factor in on top of this. Even if vaccinated airlines are likely to still require the negative test before you fly to another country. If youre bouncing around like that and there is one band member or crew that gets stuck with inconclusive tests, then what do you do. I think just doing a domestic festival tour is going to be whats feasible come September. Nobody is going to care too much if line ups have lots of overlap, you lessen the need to travel far and keep people in their regions with that. Prob just comes down to headliners but ticket holders wont give a shit if the uk ticket madness is the tip of the iceberg for demand.

Private planes shared by more than one act make that problem go away.
I could also see situations where international acts/crew have the stage area to themselves and are only onsite for slightly longer than their set for their van is taken off site.
