I think I've exhausted all my options of convincing irl friends to go to this with me, so I'm now just looking to book lodging solo. Anyone got advice on where to book (or better need someone to room with and save some money together lol)? Doing both weekends.

I would look for something in the Gothic Quarter. Seems to be easy enough to get to/from the fest from there + still in an ideal location for tourist stuff.

If you're looking to save money and are traveling solo consider staying in a hostel. I stayed at one within walking distance in 2013 and it worked out great. I'll see if I can find the name of the one I stayed at.

(edit: woo 500th post)
i’m doing HCC Taber but it looks like theyre out of singles rooms. It was 73usd a night. double rooms are 135 usd a night and it looks like they have some left from 6/1-6/12

Definitely considering it for the cost savings, and I kinda feel it would actually be more safe being around lots of people rather than solo. Hostel is probably my fall back plan if I can't find a good solo spot. However, My biggest fear for this whole trip is potentially getting Covid or some other sickness that effects my return travel, so that's why I was kinda leaning towards solo room + masking in the fest.
thats a pretty shitty location in Madrid. not on the cercanias, not on the metro, I have no idea how they are going to get 100k people there. feels like a really bad move.

This is going to make it a lot harder to do both weekends in the future between the added cost of having to travel between Barcelona and the outskirts of Madrid, and I also imagine lodging that far out in Madrid is going to be insane compared to Barcelona.

i'd also imagine that the lineups are going to be very similar between the weekends, eliminating the need to do both weekends
doubt imma do Prima again next year but good to know Madrid is an option. A friend of mine stayed abroad there and loved it. So grateful I was able to do both weekends this year since its a one of a kind lineup

Honestly, if the lineup was quality, I'd do both weekends even if it was the same. Would eliminate almost all brutal scheduling conflicts.
Jordi Martí, Councilor for Culture of the Barcelona City Council, has reacted with sportsmanship and even a certain satisfaction to the announcement by Primavera Sound that the festival will be held in 2023 in Barcelona and Madrid on two consecutive weekends. “It was a possibility that was on the table and I wish them all the luck in the world,” he says. And he adds: “I also hope that the exhibition does not lose its Barcelona essence”.
The Primavera Sound statement arrived this Wednesday, two months after the musical event threatened the council with moving to Madrid if it did not guarantee the consolidation of the two-weekend format agreed in an extraordinary way for 2022 with the aim of alleviating the losses caused by the pandemic. From that moment on, a calendar of negotiations was established between both parties that have concluded with the Barcelona-Madrid solution, on June 1, 2 and 3 at the Parc del Fòrum and on the 8th, 9th and 10th in the City of Rock in Arganda del Rey.
“It is a new example that Barcelona is capable of generating cultural events that are the envy of other cities,” says Martí. The councilor considers that it would have been “disastrous” that Primavera Sound had left, but considers the final solution “good.”

Traveling from Barcelona to Madrid is pretty inexpensive.
Previous fests at the Madrid site have had a shuttle to conde de casal which is a 25 minute drive. the mad cool site has tons of soundbleed and transportation options aren't that great getting back anyway

Curious to see how Madrid plays out. I’ve never been and this would be a good way to go. If it was the same lineup, I’d probably skip one or the other pending on how it shook.

Does anyone know how to sell W1 tickets? The Dice app says that "Return tickets to the waiting list" is "Unavailable for this event". Alternatively, does anyone here still need W1 tickets?
