With Massive Attack booked to play both weekends I'll be curious to see if they go for a replacement to play both weekends or a different one for each weekend?

They were set to play both, so I hope we get the same replacement for both weekends.

Massive Attack were the biggest draw behind Pavement for me. I hope they get a somewhat adequate replacement, this is a tough pill to swallow. If them and Brockhampton weren't on the poster on release date, I honestly might not have bought tickets, but I guess I'm too non-refundably invested to pull out of this now.
I hope the member gets better, will have to catch them on tour at a future edition of the fest.

That would be ideal, but with artist's availability it might be difficult to book someone for both weekends at this point.

Honestly, I'd be happy to get any replacement at all, as in the past, they've shown a complete willingness to just let big names drop off with no replacement (Frank Ocean, Brockhampton)

Frank was different, he dropped out last min a day or two prior to the fest

Has anyone tried requesting a refund? I bought a Weekend 1 VIP pass with refund protection back in 2020, upgraded that to a two weekend VIP in summer 2021 but I didn't do refund protection on that (not sure if it was an option). The waitlist option hasn't opened up any of the times I've looked and I'm not even sure if I could because my Weekend two upgrade is separated as its own ticket.
If I can't refund or sell it, I'm going to end up going I suppose. Which isn't the worst thing, this is a dream festival line-up for me, I just think I decided Europe isn't in the cards for me this year and I'd rather do multiple smaller domestic trips

To be fair, I looked it up and Frank dropped a week before the fest. 2 months out seems like a decent amount of time to get a replacement.
IIRC a few years ago they replaced Cardi with Miley which was a solid replacement. I doubt they get someone as good as Massive Attack, but they will a decent replacement.

they replaced Frank Ocean with jamie xx. Brockhampton wasn't a headliner and still might be replaced. the fest hasnt even happened yet.
I'm personally all aboard the NIN hype train. Would work stylistically, they are touring in Europe right after Primavera Barcelona and are playing Primavera LA. They probably cost the same as Massive Attack. Makes a lot of sense and fingers crossed it happens

Only issue with NIN could be they are rumored to be headlining in 2023 so I don't think the fest would move them a year earlier when this thing is already sold out.

Unfortunately, Nine Inch Nails were already announced as an exclusive for Hell Fest, and seem to have already been booked for PS23. Can't see it happening, even though stylistically it would make a lot of sense, and I'd be for it.
She'd be a great add, but doesn't really fit the vibe of Massive Attack. Shouldn't they at least try to find a similar band to appease Massive Attack fans?

I think just book the best possible replacement. Some options that would maybe appeal to MA fans that seem semi realistic: LCD Soundsystem, Bjork, Underworld, James Blake, chem bros, NIN, Royksopp, Justice, Soulwax, orbital, kraftwerk, stromae...
Primavera's instagram comment seems to indicate this is a completely out of the blue event and they had no prior knowledge. Not great for where we stand regarding a replacement
Bjork is playing Finland June 12th. Had a Moscow show scheduled for the 8th that got canceled. Not sure if those dates are too close knowing these are her orchestral shows.

Logistically it probably works but practically it doesn't. An outdoor orchestral show would also probably not sound great
Pretty bummed about no Massive Attack but hope everyone gets healthy. LCD would be a decent replacement for me but not sure if they are ruled out because of BBK. Bjork would be great but can't imagine that is a possibility with here current tour schedule.
