The Cure and Vampire Weekend are both playing Mad Cool in July, so there's no chance Primavera booked both. If the festivals share a headliner, it will probably be The Cure based on tour dates. I think there's a good chance VW stays stateside for most of June before heading over to Europe. Then again, VW will most likely be a sub at Mad Cool, so perhaps that's an argument for them being more likely than The Cure. Also very possible that neither play Primavera.
Neil Young would be a great surprise at the top of this thing. Seems like we're missing a big headliner (although I could also see it being a year without a big headliner).
so I'm interested in going to this next year; is it worth it to buy my ticket now before the lineup drops? Also, asking for someone else: were there single days available last year?

The lineup is revealed in a few hours, so, I mean, you can wait a bit longer. But the lineup is always worth IMO. I'm planning to do it in 2020.
Also, yes, there are single days available, probably on sale early next year.

The festival is so cheap compared to US fests that I think it's worth it to make sure the lineup is worth it for you before you buy anything and if you're going to do it, do the whole week. With your ticket you can go to shows from Monday to Sunday.
