Even with the changes in main stage VIP it was still worth it. Separate interest to the festival, priority access to auditori and club shows and the vip area by biance stage were all clutch. Also with the festival going so late i'm too old to be out in GA all night. Need a few creature comforts lol.
well Auditori didn't even exist W2, W1+W2 had priority too, and over 6 days, I never waited more than 2 minutes to get into the festival...but you do you
I mean compared to prices at American festivals upgrading to VIP is totally worth it for me for the extra comfort. Like Pablo said it's a small price to pay when you factor in the total cost of a trip from the states.
Gonna write up some things later, probably on indiestyle. Travelling back later today but it's safe to say this was one of the best two weeks of my life. Probably also one of the most exhausting ones.

They delayed my flight by 45 minutes from Toronto to Chicago because they weren't enough people working in passport control- customs to process everyone on time. Airports sure are a mess these days lol
lmaooo i feel so blessed w summers here in MA. sitting here in my comfy a/c
We have AC in Texas as well.
haha feels like the only place in BCN were the AC actually was on was at my hotel. There were definitely somedays when I ended up talking 3 showers throughout the day.

Got back home last night but really enjoyed this fest ! I think the VIP is absolutely worth it . Having that area in the soundboard reserved was fantastic . I didn’t mind the bleachers section and it worked well for the Estrella dam stage but not as well for pull and bear . I wish the food in VIP was better . Only having 2 options was kind of a bummer !

agreed, even if just like a lil pizza stand that would be better than the single hot dog stand in the binance vip
BCNR were great but honestly i didnt really enjoy it as much as FTFT or AFUT stuff. Completely different direction is more polished and professional sounding but i really enjoyed the raw emotion from Isaac’s vocals. i’m definitely interested to see how their next full length sounds though!
Krule was phenomenal. Played a lot of stuff from Man Alive! as well as 4 brand new songs so that was cool. pits were super fun but someone got their purse stolen towards the front so that rly sucked for her. Def made me a lot more vigilant after.
Currently waiting for Gorillaz then doing Tyler. Will be a gametime decision between Leon and Ben UFO. Think i may do the latter just to take advantage of my VIP pass i was kindly gifted by raftwithtaft
I saw this but forgot to reply a week or so ago. Thanks to you and Theo for reporting back on BCNR. They’ve got a show with black midi in Tucson (completely randomly), so I’m looking forward to that to ease the pain of missing Prima. Hopefully can make up that King Krule set sometime this year too.
Skimming through some of the thread it looks like everyone had a great time despite the craziness. I’m sure I’ll get baited back in if the 2023 lineup is on par.
I don't think as an adult i've been on vacation for over two weeks before. When I got back to my apt last night things even looked a little different. Was weird haha.

Happy to see almost all of you got back home safely and safe travels to those still out there.
Had to bail on the Friday of the fest because I felt awful and did a tight run of some favorites on Saturday (Pond, Angel Bat Dawid, Arooj Aftab, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, some of Tame). Really sad about missing Jessie Ware but I was almost falling asleep at Tame. Testing negative consistently, I think my body was just dead tired after two busy weeks in London and Copenhagen before the fest!
Just touched down in Houston! Looking forward to seeing the city a little differently after being in another country for a relatively long time.
I just had a new pt check in who recently returned from being in Texas for 1.5 months, and she tells me your state is full of "homeless people, and people who just scream and scream and scream and scream and scream and you get beat up pretty much every day". Happy to hear you are back in the promised land!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Anyone who complains about a place being full of homeless people sounds like a prick. Keep her!

She was a homeless person. Thus her complaint. Apparently your state has shitty resources for homeless folks with mental health issues.
