Move Odesza from Sunday to Saturday. Get Local Natives to play Sunday. Frees up the packed Odesza/XX/Killers cluster and I imagine the Sunday only and Saturday only crowd would appreciate.
The fest is going to be much smaller this year. I hear they cut the capacity down from 40k to 30k. They are also only going to be using the one field at Randalls. The field where the tent used to be is out. More of a chance for them to sell out and cuts down on their costs.
Weird, where will they place the Pavilion tent instead.

Why?
Bc in theory they'd be freeing up a slot on Sunday. And LN is in Boston the night before. And because I like LN and think people that bought a pass to see Killers/XX/David Byrne/Fleet Foxes might too.
Or, don't! And save money and keep me from having more conflicts.

I'm going Sunday only and I don't want them messing with my Odesza Main Stage -> The xx Tent -> The Killers Main Stage finale.
Fleet Foxes and David Byrne should play earlier to alleviate conflicts. Their shows don't hinge on night time and would be cool during the day. Fleet Foxes in the Andrew McMahon spot and David Byrne in the Glass Animals spot would be perfect.

I completely agree with you but this sentence is still hilarious to consider

Maybe no tent? Given the DJ-heavy lineup and the fact that the Parlor can also accommodate bands, they could just boil it down to that and the main stage.

They absolutely need the Pavilion. Even with a slightly scaled down lineup, the Parlor has already had it's floor break and had to deal with insane lines to get in, so it's far from a stage that could handle potentially having to house an act like Odesza or The xx.

im guessing that means they are gonna use the pavement in front of main stage like Gov Ball does, put the pavilion where the Tent is at Gov Ball then throw in the Parlor roughly where the Miller Lite tent is at Gov Ball

I understand most New Yorkers can see bands year round and it’s not the ideal location/time, but it’s a shame Panorama has put together a few quality lineups and the city can’t support two major fests.

It's just fascinating to me. When Pano was first announced, the general vibe was, "Well, kiss GovBall goodbye!" and that Pano would come in and rule everything. Then the location/date thing happens, the heat dome squashes first-year attendance, and LiveNation buys Founders, and here we are.
I contend that there's space in NYC for a smaller, hyper-curated summer festival a la Pitchfork in Chicago...but I'm sure AEG has no interest in that sort of thing.

Check out Afropunk.
Yeah, I was thinking maybe something in between Afropunk and GovBall in size, but maybe Afropunk is it! I'm still trying to finagle at least a day out of that this year given that it's the same weekend as my one-year wedding anniversary. We'll see how that goes.

It makes total sense that this is Pano's final year.
If it happens, Woodstock 50 is slated 2 weekends after this. It's an easy 2 hour train+uber or drive up there from NYC. If it's half as big as some say it will be, it would totally crush Pano.
They should really just move Pano to be a smaller 30k fest May 3-5 2019. Weather would be nice enough...just swoop in front of Founders and grab a bunch of Coachella acts with momentum.
Maybe this means they'll just shift all of their focus to FYF?
I think they are going to spread more love to the Midwest festivals they have. Just based off wishful thinking but also the fact they put way more money into MoPop and what ever the hell they've got going on in Ohio.

Does Goldenvoice organize or promote MoPop?
Thought I saw their logo on the poster but upon further investigation it’s just AEG.
