I have to say, I’m perplexed by the way this festival is promoted and run when it’s not in session. 2016 lineup announcement was in March. For the 2017 edition, they do a December 2016 pre-sale and announce the lineup January 9th. Now, we know nothing other than the dates and there’s been no presale despite the generally positive word of mouth from last year.
Don’t get me wrong: I’ve had a blast at both editions of Pano. I just...I mean, they had to lose money with the relatively low ticket sales the pay two years, right? Shouldn’t they be trying like crazy to build hype for this if it’s something they actually want to keep going?

Kind of hard to hype a festival based off the name alone when its not a strong/recognizable brand. They do a good job of papering the city and having ads on the radio and stuff once they actually have a lineup to promote.

I suppose that's true, but it's more the seemingly scattershot nature of it year to year that rankles, for me. I get that the first year was a bit of a shuffle due to the whole Corona Park thing, but going from a lineup announcement in March to a early bird December sale/early January lineup announcement to whatever we have going on this year...I dunno. It'd just seem to make more sense to me, from a marketing standpoint, to be more consistent with it in order to build up anticipation.
Then again, I've run exactly zero successful music festivals in my life, so what the hell do I know?
