Well there is a guy who grew up dirt poor in Michigan with no father and no industry connections and he just happens to be at every fest this year - sounds like you guys would dig him!
Best part of this past day’s argument is I’m pretty sure it’s based on some fake news. I couldn’t find anything that would suggest that Moti Haim is all that wealthy, maybe people think that cause he played soccer in Israel but that’s not a high wage occupation lol.
I stand by my ugh. She makes extremely silly, non-genuine gestures and I can’t take them serious because of it (but that’s just my humble opinion and I don’t mind them subbing or whatever).
I’m just laughing at the thread because I woke up to early. And I haven’t paid enough attention to get the bassist’s facial gestures. But a lot of musicians seem to count time and occasionally even complicated melody (Steve Howe) with their face or some type of contortion of a facial or jaw muscle. I emphatically cannot count time. But I’d imagine in intricate pieces, if you aren’t foot tapping because of working pedals or being seated or whatever, the physical manifestation of that counting could take the form of a facial distortion, twitching motion or head bobbing.
Now if it’s some shit like I’m about to hit this bad power chord motherfucker metal head face (or perhaps a DeMarcus Cousins look), then it’s not as cool.
My lips have always slightly moved when I play guitar and friends would point it out to me. I’m familiar with what you guys are talking about. They might need to have this one looked at though. She’s a seasoned musician at this point so one would think that she could suppress it some (even if it grew naturally). It just feels a bit gimmicky I guess.
