Today, the group of increasingly worried travelers have arrived in San Francisco. Seeing several of their friends die while on their California expedition, many were deciding to stay in touristy areas and retreating to their hotel rooms just before sundown.
Tainted on the other hand, he didn't seem as worried. He wanted to get himself a burrito, and searched Google for places nearby that had good ratings. He found one, but it was a six block walk away. Turns out the neighborhood got sketchier and sketchier as he got closer to the restaurant. He arrived at the restaurant without issue, and put his backpack down on a nearby table.
A homeless junkie sneaks up from behind and steals the backpack. Once Tainted is done ordering, he turns around and sees the bag is gone. He runs out the restaurant in a panic, trying to find the person who ran off with his stuff. He goes around the block, scoping out the vagrants in hopes he finds the bag.
A black van pulls up beside him, down in an alley. Someone in all black and a mask jumps out of the van, holding a machete, and stabs Tainted twice in the chest. Tainted falls onto the sidewalk, and the junkie steps out from around the corner.
Masked person: You got the bag?
The junkie nods, and hands over Tainted's backpack. The masked man hands over five $20 bills.
Masked person: Go buy yourself some crack. You look like you need some.
The junkie runs off, and the masked person hops back into the van and drives away into the darkness of the Tenderloin.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Me too. After a quick look over the tallies the only person I feel pretty good about is JR. Aside from Mafia-Dan naming him as Mafia, JR also put the decisive vote on Zolah, which is what forced Danbob to switch off of her. No way a fellow Mafia put their brethren in that position unnecessarily.
I think we can also assume that Pablo was town, given how we're still playing this game.
Obviously switch your name with mine if you're town. I don't have time to do so at the moment, but this gives us a lot of info to look at the votes of our Unknowns.
Lean town towards Potent too, based on Danbob and Zolah both stacking on him to put him into the Day 1 runoff, and then keeping their votes on him throughout the round.
Thank you for at least expanding to a run-off. Seems strange that the players who would usually be all over making sure we have a run-off are eerily silent. I don't mind being in a run-off at all, or even being voted off. Not that you can take my word for it, but I am not somehow Mafia twice in a row. I can't say if Zolah is or isn't Mafia. I think she is a good person to have in the run-off. She is the only one among the two of us who the whacked player voted for or mentioned, and the only one who was among the last day's run-off, which the now whacked player also mentioned as noteworthy.
Had I been online this morning I would have moved my vote to preserve a runoff, and to save LLL because, as I said, she's my most likely town read at this point based on her actions towards me that don't make a lot of sense coming from mafia.
BTW, I just noticed this while rereading. I was lying. I was laying low because I didn't want to move my vote off of Danbob, who I very strongly suspected. I would have moved before the end if I had to.
Potent Zolah stacking him to 3 on page 1 would have been a pretty huge distancing move. Then he retaliates.
Having all 3 mafia nearly land in the first runoff seems very unlikely. Nearly, because Danbob narrowly escaped.
D2R2, LLL is at 3 votes, Danbob, Zolah, and JR are all one vote behind. If he's mafia, of course he votes for me. The move could have been easily justified, as everyone was still in the dark at this point. He actually votes for Zolah.
LLL I no longer grant LLL immunity for saving me. The runoff was 3 townies and any move she made as mafia was to win allies and/or to show a little bit of movement and not stay on the same person all the way through Day 1.
LLL pushing Zolah into the D2R1 runoff when Danbob was already there by himself seems a little too ballsy, as it drastically increases the chances that mafia is lynched. If LLL is mafia and they win, it was still a really stupid move, just lucky.
Jaz The only strike I have against him is his lack of involvment on Day 1.
However, he opened Day 2 with a vote on Zolah, which could have been distancing, but probably not.
I can't counter any of the theorycrafting he did from then until now. The only person he analyzed that I didn't was myself, and the conclusions were the same.
ZIG His play style has been off. He's been less engaging than usual. He never once voted for mafia.
It looks to me like he saw the Danbob Zolah conflict happening, and decided to play the quiet mafia.
Danbob did a lot of distancing against Zolah. In general, if 2 are playing the distancing game, the third stays out of it.
ZIG is mafia. On the off chance I'm wrong, it's Jaz. If I'm still wrong, Potent or LLL played the best distancing game ever played and got very lucky.
I played the quiet mafia but have the second most posts in the game??? That's sloppy JR.
There's a difference between quiet mafia and low post count. You're not yourself.
Ummm. If I were Mafia with Danbob and Xolah, I would have been the most active out of the 3. You don't make any sense. Maybe I'm playing at ZIG Level 3 instead of ZIG Level 10, but my ZIG Level 3 is more active than 90% of players.
If you're not mafia, who is? Give me some of that good old ZIG reasoning that seems half-hearted this game.
Without doing a reread yet, my gut feeling says Potent, but I stated that at the end of Day 2 already.
On my last reread I was worried about both Potent and LLL more than I had been on my previous read through as I was comparing everyone meticulously to Danbob and Zolah. The biggest reasons I mostly cleared them were as I said. Garbage mafia Potent voted for Zolah when he should have voted for me. Garbage mafia LLL put a second mafia into a runoff at the start of Day 2.
This is the tally right before Maddog came out, and I think it clears LLL. If Danbob was Mafia with Zolah and LLL, it makes ZERO sense to switch from one Mafia-mate to the other, and even less sense to fake reveal at that point.

So, on Day 2, LLL puts a second mafia into the runoff, then both other mafia vote for her. I'd say she's as cleared as one can be.
For a runoff. If anyone has a better idea, my vote can move again if needed.
And here's some more evidence for JR being town. Danbob calls for a runoff of Zolah and JR. You might include one of your Mafia brethren when you're throwing shade, but not both.
Potentially lynching LLL to me feels way too similar to lynching Pablo on day 1. I think her "saving" JR is being blown out of proportion just like Pablo expanding the runoff to five was. I'd much rather see a final runoff of JR and Zolah.
Well, at least I'm not going to be the townie that loses the game on Day 5
Honestly other than myself, who do you think is the third? All the other players alive have pretty good cases for them being town.
Just did a reread.
3rd Mafia is either Jaz or Potent.
Potent seems a lot more "town" than you based on his past votes, but that feels like the Mafia MO this game: vote for your fellow mafia as much as possible and try to create separation. Plus that seems to be Potent's go to Mafia strategy.
Unfortunately, you and JR putting me at 2 votes essentially seals my fate on day 4 now because even if LLL and I vote Potent, Potent will have the deciding vote and vote me out so I'm essentially a dead man walking.

I think that Mafia was convinced at that point that I may be Inspector with Zolah's name because of how quickly I came down to her. I came down to her because they killed Carini, who I was sure was pointing to Zolah and was probably the Inspector. If I, who am not even Mafia, picked up on that, you know they did too. And then for me to follow with that line of thinking, I think they thought that I was Inspector. Danbob came out as I was in a run-off with his partner. I think they assumed I would then come out, and look shady as fuck as the second Inspector to come out, and being in a run-off. That is why he cleared someone who they assumed was vanilla town, Maddog.
So I think that at this point, they were distancing as much as possible from Zolah, preparing for my "reveal" and giving Zolah's name. I am only speculating here, of course, but that is how I would have seen it if I were Mafia with them.
