We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

California, a prophet on the burning shore California, I'll be knocking on the golden door Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light Rising up to paradise, I know I'm gonna shine.
carini12 didn't even have time to visit a head shop. He's fucking dead.
Night one is over. Day 2 begins here in a couple seconds.
I hope you are going to draw numbers out of a hat. Just like the good ole days.
I went back to the good ole days by moving spots from my name on the list. Now I add 2 factors to decide how many spots and I will alternate directions each game. If I've eaten to much corn and can't do the math I vote Zig
Carini doesn't like the runoff being pushed to 5 but pushes the runoff to 5...
Yes. I want Pablo in the runoff and I had to make it 5 in order to do that. Typically pushing a way runoff to 5 indicates mafia is trying to up their odds of survival. Not saying he is definitely mafia but I've seen this move enough times to run with it for now and include him.
We had 4 in the runoff: you, JR, Zolah, and Potent. Pablo expanded to 5 which I spoke earlier of often being a tactic used by mafia to dilute the pool and increase their survival odds. Under my theory at least 1 maybe 2 of the original 4 are mafia. I'm not in the way of having any idea who yet.
Carini: I feel like I've covered that. You pushed a runoff to five because I pushed a runoff to five. My move had no effect on the composition of the runoff. Yours did. You're well within your right to do that, and that may be a smart move, but it is, I think, somewhat hypocrotical.
I personally don't care what the # is for a day 1 runoff, 3, 4, or 5 are all ok with me. What I want is the right people in to the best of our ability
Bottom line is I read your move to be a possible cover for a mafia in the runoff so I wanted you in also. You half assed an accusation for reasons known only to you, I saw something I found suspicious and I acted. I did figure someone would take it down to 4 after I put you in and that data will potentially also come in handy
Him saying he wanted Potent to advance plus him saying he thinks there was a Mafia in the runoff makes me think the Mafia might have thought he had Potent's name. But then why not switch in the final runoff? To try and lay low? Not sure what else to make of this just yet; I just wanted to get his posts up there before heading to bed.

What the fuck mafia? You couldn't have waited till after I left the shop? How the hell am I supposed to eat my corn in the afterlife?
Carini was driving around San Diego, taking in the sights. He saw some nice looking park on the outskirts of downtown and decided to head over for a little stroll.
A friend calls, asking about how his trip has been so far. Carini responds that San Diego is ok, but what he's really looking forward to is getting to Humboldt later in the week. Another man walking in the park overhears this and stops Carini.
Hey man? I hear you're looking for corn? Humboldt has decent corn, but I know where you can find better.
Carini, always one for adventure and corn, inquires. So, where is it?
Long story short, Carini was supposed to meet up with the rest of the group of 11 downtown where they were meeting up with everyone's favorite San Diego Inforooers for dinner and later the Padres game. He never made it. Instead he was found the next morning on the side of the road dead, 30 miles outside the city and not far from the Mexican border. Local authorities believe he was brought out there looking to get corn from Mexico, but was gunned down execution style.
Who could have done such a thing?

He didn't say I should advance. He said, in effect, if I advance (when I had 3 votes), I should advance with the person who put me at three, and then he voted for Zolah. That's much different than how you interpreted what he said. He then backed off of his vote on Zolah when ZIG backed off his vote on me.
Honestly, I think this whack points to retaliation for Pablo's death. Carini was the vote that put Pablo in the 5 way, and stated that he thought he was protecting someone else in the runoff (using the common theory that runoff expanding from 4 to 5 is mafia trying to dilute a bad runoff).
Or, the whack points to the fact that Carini was obviously not mafia - he has as many posts D1 as he is liable to have over two or three days of the game staying alive, everyone knows that a quiet Carini = mafia, and therefore the opposite must be true.
Was Pablo mafia? I'm not sure, I think that at least some of the town felt he was not at the end of D1, but I wonder how the whack of Carini changes that. I think, under that theory, at least probably LLL is town and one of Zolah, Danbob, JR, or myself is mafia (obviously I know I'm town but you can't take my word for it).

Since nobody seems willing to move off Potent I feel he should advance with the person that bumped him to 3.
Subject to move should someone come off Potent
I can see where you're getting that interpretation from, but I think it can go either way. Carini isn't exactly the most clear person to understand in this game. And considering your habit for voting for teammates when you're Mafia, if Carini had Zolah's name, your votes kinda implicate you. That's backwards logic for most players of this game, but you have a bit of a reputation haha.
I do agree with you though that one of Zolah, Danbob, JR, and yourself is Mafia, and I'd be willing to hang my hat on that. I think your interpretation of Carini makes enough sense that it won't warrant a vote from me at this point, so
I've been one of the players most frequently using the "Quiet Carini = Mafia" rule, and for his standards, he was anything but quiet in this game. He was a clear town read to me.
It's also interesting that for all the moving around on D1R1, they movement was by 4 players: Carini, Pablo, ZIG, Maddog. Two of those 4 are dead, I know I'm town, and Maddog's only switch was to pull the runoff back to a 4-way. That leaves 7 players that essentially sat back and let the round essentially shake out.
Add in the fact that from D1R2 -> D1R4, we had the the minimum amount of votes + 1 switch (LLL moving onto Pablo D1R3), and very of anything important go down with Pablo dying in basically a whimper, it feels like Mafia had a successful Day 1.
Add in the fact that Carini was 1 of 2 players to not have any votes cast against him, him dying Night 1 leaves less less connections to sift through.
Just did a reread and I'm fairly confident that there is a mafia between JR and Zolah. The original runoff before movement was Potent, JR, Zolah, and myself. I agree with most here that there's probably a mafia in this group. I know I'm town so there's three names here. I crossed off Potent because no one tried to save him at any point day 1(although you could argue mad dog saved him with the final vote for Pablo). The only time someone switched off of Potent was zig because Potent was already at three votes. Not saying this clears Potent but I am leaning town of him. So this leaves JR and Zolah. I'm gonna do another reread before the round gets going and focus on those two but for now I'll place my vote on JR.
Taking away the movement surrounding her at the end of R1, and focusing on R3.
Potent and JR seem content to vote for each other, taking Pablo out of the runoff. At which point LLL both effectively saves JR and gives Potent his vote, back helping him survive the next round.
If we think that 1-2 of the JR/Zolah/Dan/Potent are mafia, I can easily see that move saving one, and casting doubt on the other. Hypothetically, if its Dan/Zolah-Potent/JR-LLL, her making that move doesn't really make Potent or JR stand out any more than the other, which gives they unknown third someone to throw under the bus.

Dan > JR
"I crossed off Potent because no one tried to save him"
LLL's move to Pablo gives Potent his vote back in a two way RO. It's not an explicit save, and there's the chance it wouldn't have worked, but Potent did come out of the day.

Not sure what you're trying to get at here. If anyone "saved" Potent it's you for making the final vote on Pablo and thus letting Potent live. Not saying that I think LLL is town but it seems like all your reasons are a bit forced.
I voted for pablo because I thought his move and subsequent defense were confusing, but I also feel like the 3 stack on Potent makes Potent suspect as well, he just didn't say or do anything particularly for me to justify taking him out.
Maybe had we had another free vote instead of just me and Jaz, something else could've been uncovered. But due to LLL's move we only got 2 real votes out of 3 going into the final round of the day. Which is why I'm voting for her now.
While I have my suspicions around JR or LLL for the vote swap essentially "saving" JR on D1R3... Danbob was the one who fell out of that initial runoff. I think he deserves to be in this.
I am looking at things from a bit of a difficult angle, maybe. 3 names interest me that I think could use some attention.
Jaz - only player in the game that hasn't received a vote yet.
Taint and LLL - Looking at how Pablo progressed thru the runoff, Pablo made the initial runoff by votes from ZIG and Carini (both town). Taint was the deciding vote on Pablo D1R2, while LLL made a switch and was the deciding vote on Pablo D1R3.
So going into the final runoff, the Pablo voters were (ZIG-town, Carini-town, Taint, LLL). Unless Pablo was Mafia, it would seem likely that Mafia would have had some sort of hand in guiding Pablo thru the runoff and ultimately to his death,
I found the vote dancing by Carini a little out of character and he was more active than usual. I think Zig is on to something with the reasoning being quiet Carini = mafia. Still, I'm a little surprised to see him whacked. All his vote changes made him someone easy to manipulate people onto. I think mafia had reason to believe he was inspector. I read quickly over his posts this morning, but I'd like to read into them a little closer, because I'm more sure than usual that there's something there.
On another note. LLL always votes for me on page 1 and changes before the end of Day 1.
I'll develop and share more thoughts this evening. It's Friday after all.
