I mean, I love it because 4 of my absolute favorite bands (AM, VW, CHVRCHES, ST.V) are in the top 16, but yea this is pretty disappointing based on the predictions.
This is not good at all lol. Soooooo much filler. I like the top 4 rock acts but idk how u justify $380 for a 4 day pass to that. I’m just praying Thursday lines up nicely.
Also noticed since 4 days haven’t sold out yet, they’re holding back on single days. Smart on their part tbh, because I don’t think that lineup is gonna sway opinions of people who were on the fence.
I think it's alright. Bruno Mars is a plus for me, since I don't recall seeing him on other lineups, and it will be a big, fun show. Vampire Weekend is a great studio band, if underwhelming live. Tyler, St. Vincent, Excision, LL Cool J all fine. Dillon Francis is about as good an EDM artist as you can book, because at least he is funny and doesn't take himself seriously. Gucci Mane, Brockhampton, Tycho, Lizzo, Parquet Courts, The Vaccines all fine.
I won't be hopping a plane to Chicago but it's not terrible.
Only act I wish Osheaga had gotten is Tycho. The better fest is def in Montreal that weekend.
Vampire Weekend doesnt do anything for you?
Not really. One of those bands that I just don't really get. Seen them 3 times and it just never clicked for me. But I know a lot of people who love them, so its probably just a me thing.

This is better than last year but nothing special. All the good shit will probably be Thursday, and it still won’t really be worth taking off work for.
Idk how they didn't manage to book Anderson .paak or James Blake
Missing Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sylvan Esso, Future Islands, Blood Orange, Alvvays, and Tokimonsta are also a head scrachers. Bruno and The Weeknd don't come cheap I guess.

Sylvan Esso and Alvvays played last year
Agree with the general sentiment though. St. Vincent is really the only truly exciting booking for me outside the top lines
Also, how is Lil Uzi Vert #13 on this lineup? Can we stop considering streaming numbers a sign of success yet? I dont know anyone over 18 that thinks this guy is actually decent, the live vids on YouTube look brutal.

I’m starting to think you don’t know many people between 18-35 period.

I'm 21 and a big Uzi fan but I do get what you're saying. I wish they would have with less flavor of the month rap and booked some better names like Pusha T, Big KRIT, Maxo Kream, etc.
Logic - Post Malone - Khalid all being in a row is a way bigger bummer than Bruno and The Weeknd being the top 2
Isn't bad to me. Four headliners would be totally worth seeing (Jack White, AM, The National, VW) and at least a good sub or two on each day. Mid-tier is festival filler, but if you're not going to many fests this year I'm sure it doesn't matter whether Brockhampton and Tash Sultana are playing one festival or 20. Undercard doesn't do much for me.
Overall, I'd look at the day-by-days but probably go a couple days if I lived in Chi.
