It's Secret Santa time! I probably don't love this as much as NothingButFlowers did last year, but I do love it nonetheless and have committed to steer this ship for the coming holiday season.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Send an email to joshuajgrubbs@gmail.com with the following information:
FULL NAME: ADDRESS: SCREENNAME:
I will randomly assign a Secret Santa to everyone. (I PROMISE it will be random). If for some reason there is a reason why you would not want to be assigned as someone’s Secret Santa, please list those people in the email you send me. Also, please note if you are willing to ship overseas.
2. Answer the questions below in a reply to this thread. Your Secret Santa once assigned will review those answers to determine what to give you. If you would rather not list your answers here in the thread, please do so in your email. We can make that work. And if you know of members on here who might not see this thread, tell them about it. The more the merrier!
3. Secret Santas will be given out on Sunday, November 19th. Once you've been assigned a person, check this thread, but PLEASE, DO NOT reveal who you have. OK? Deal. If you need me to fish for some ideas for your person, just let me know. I take my role as Inforoo Santa very seriously & want to do all I can to help you out.
4. Please, let's try to ship all gifts by Friday, December 15th. Gifts DO NOT have to be purchased. Feel free to be creative and create or craft a gift. If you do intend on purchasing a gift, let’s try to keep it in the $20 range.
5. Don't be "that guy". If you participate and are assigned as someone's Secret Santa, don't leave them without a gift. Please be prepared to participate if you e-mail me. That being said, bad things do happen, so if you have to drop out for some reason, please let me know so arrangements can be made.
6. No new posters. With personal information being handed out, there is no choice but to keep this somewhat secure. The threshold that was decided on in years past was a minimum of 500 posts OR 2 years account activity. 1. What is your favorite genre of music? I like music that I can sing along to. I like 80s music. I like music that catches me off guard. I don't have a good answer to this question.
2. What is your favorite musical artist? David Byrne, but I also really like Beck and Beth Orton and TV on the Radio and Cake and Meat Loaf and Kate Bush.

Weirdly, peanut butter isn't really a thing here either, so like PB Snickers, PB M&M's or those kinds of "special" kinds of candies are good too.

13. What else do you want "Santa" to know about you? I just moved to Australia at the end of August, so keep your package light bc shipping can get spendy the heavier the package is. However, I've just started to really feel some homesickness begin set in, so anything that is uniquely American would be nice. But keep in mind that if you're shipping from the US it can take up to 4 weeks, so don't send anything that could go bad, and if you send something fragile be sure to wrap it really well!

2. What is your favorite musical artist? - I have a few (four, ten...). Brand New, Spoon, Dr. Dog, LCD Soundsystem, Cake, Modest Mouse, and more that I'll think of later. You get the idea.
3. What is your t-shirt size? - A women's large/men's medium.
4. What is your favorite sports team? - I enjoy watching MLB and college basketball. My teams are the New York Yankees, Siena College Saints, and UNC Tar Heels. I also have a soft spot for the Iowa Hawkeyes because their head coach used to be Siena's head coach and he's just excellent.

15. Is there anything people should not get you? - I have all the baking stuff and a tiny kitchen. So none of that please. Boyfriend would probably want me to also say "no more yarn!" buuuuuut my stash could never be too large.

2. What is your favorite musical artist? Sturgill Simpson, Wilco, MMJ, Umphrey's McGee, and Jason Isbell gives you the idea.

5. What is your favorite non-music related hobby? Enjoy outdoor stuff (hiking, golf, considering getting a kayak around Christmas). Do a lot of cooking. Also, I have been getting into the craft beer scene being in Asheville now.

12. Are you a collector of anything? My dad has a huge sports bobblehead collection, in which I will help add to it from time to time. I have built a decent vinyl collection over the past 2-3 years.

8. What are your favorite TV Shows/Movies? horror and silly comedies are my favorite movies. i watch a lot of garbage tv (most things on bravo). right now, i love the good place and the great british baking show.

What is your favorite book? i mostly do light reading to keep busy on long days at work. graphic novels (daniel clowes and lisa hanawalt are my favorites), celebrity autobiographies (think tina fey, amy poehler) and some cultural/political stuff (currently reading ta-nehisi coates and dan rather).
