Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
i don't have anything set in stone, but at least a day pass for Big Ears and Shaky Knees seems likely. I will prob either do Lockn or Hulaween in the fall.
Also, fiance and I are currently planning to honeymoon on a beach in FL. A day of Disney World would def happen.
1. When posting a list of festivals you will be attending, posting them in alphabetical order is incredibly helpful. 2. It can also be helpful to quote your previous post when updating. Obviously don't just edit your old post. 3. If you say you are maybe going to a fest or lineup dependent, I may or may not put you as attending, I have no real rules about this. Just let me know if you see any mistakes.
since there is nowhere else to put it except on individual threads I also want to predict the fest whores next year - ie Cage, Bleachers, Mondo Cozmo, Andrew McMahon and the XX which all seemed to be at every fest I went to in 2017. Maybe this is a sep thread - IDK. Anyway, since I just got an email about it
- Awolnation. I bet they are almost everywhere with good billing - Judah and the Lion - since they are following the 21P template - Typhoon - just cause
100% for shaky knees and voodoo unless the lineups are complete trash
Really interested if LiveNation does festival pass in 2018. If so that will drive my 2018 plans
Also hoping Firefly pulls its head out of its butt and books a real lineup this year I'm in for that if they do
I️ doubt firefly pulls its head out of its ass. Such a shame because it would be a great festival if they got back to decent lineups. I️ went this year and while I️ had fun, the whole time I️ was wanting something “more”.
So far: -Bonnaroo - we'll see. -Dirtybird Campout East - very interesting concept for a festival. I need to check it out at least once. -Distant Dimension - Tiny house/techno festival near Tampa - big maybe, if I have that weekend off work -Earthdance Florida - maybe, they got me this year with The Polish Ambassador, but I'll have to see if my schedule works out. -Gasparilla Music Festival - Waiting for those super cheap early birds to drop. Usually a good lineup of low and a couple mid-tier bands. -Hometeam New Years Rally - Tiny funk/jam festival near Tampa - maybe, might hit up Manic Focus NYE Tampa instead. -Hulaween - an absolute staple every year from now until forever. I love that place. It makes me feel like Bonnaroo used to make me feel. -III Points Festival - Such a unique lineup. I'm just waiting for them to book Aphex Twin. Miami is a blast. -Okeechobee Festival - Waiting on a lineup, but I really like their village and 24 hr music lineup. Paul Peck ain't there no mo', so we'll see. -Orange Blossom Jamboree - another tiny jam fest near Tampa. -Purple Hatter's Ball - If Bonnaroo doesn't happen. -Ultra Music Festival - I have tickets and booked a hotel, but I'm not 100% committed until the lineup drops -Wanee - Waiting on that lineup, but I want to hit up Wanee, but maybe not for 7 sets of WSMFP. I need a spring Suwannee fix if Tipper n friendz isn't happening this year. -Whigfest - Tampa fest being headlined by Umph.
There's so many fucking festivals in Florida now it's ridiculous. I used to have to drive to Bonnaroo to get a decent fest. No wonder it gets harder to return every year. I can barely find the inspiration to go to St Augustine for Fool's Paradise.
ACL - Maybe, probably not Bonnaroo - Gimme that lineup Boston Calling - 100% Gov Ball - If I'm still in NYC next summer I'll be there Meadows - [see Gov Ball] Newport Folk - 100% Outside Lands - Maybe, probably not Panorama - [see Gov Ball] Shaky Knees - Maybe Voodoo - Maybe
Wild Cards: FYF, Lockn, Desert Daze, that upcoming Superfly fest in Denver
So I may just be going to Holy Ship, second weekend...
I have friends that go every year and will be there again. I really loathe the lineup for 10.0 but I’m guessing 11.0 (superior IMHO) is weekend 2?
A few of my friends have gone and said they loved it. 11 is weekend two, would love to see testpilot, The Black Madonna, Peggy Gou, Mall Grab, Green Velvet, Mind Against and Kim Ann Foxman. Justin Martin, Cut Snake, Nancy Whang, Rezz, Jack Beats, Solardo and Latmun would be cool to see too.
Yeah. That’s the way better and more interesting lineup in my opinion. We did Cruise to the Edge in 2013 which was about seeing a bunch of my progressive heroes from teenage wasteland years like ELP, UK, Yes, Genesis and got to see newer shit like Glass Hammer from Tennessee and then IO Earth which was as freaky in the 20-teens as Hawkwind was in the 60s. If I do another cruise, it’ll probably be Jam Cruise but I might could do Holy Ship at some point. Hope you and the ole lady can make it since the vet bills nuked D4N.

That sounds awesome, Genesis as in the Genesis with Phil Collins?!
My dream would've been to go on S.S. Coachella, such a great lineup. Hope it comes back one day.
I hope it pans out! Trying to get media sorted for it right now. Making that trip would make up for missing out on Day for Night!
It was old guitarist Steve Hackett’s Genesis Revisited. They did a bunch of old Gabriel era Genesis like Supper’s Ready and Watcher of the Skies off Foxtrot, 2 or 3 songs off Selling England, and a bunch of Lamb Lies Down on Broadway from the 72-74 era. He was always my favorite musician from their best era with him/Rutherford/Collins/Banks/Gabriel. It was a 5 or 6 piece band doing the songs Steve’s way. It was killer. I love Collins as a drummer from that era too. After Gabriel and Hackett left Genesis and they decided to carry it on more as a pop band, Collins worked with Brand X on some of their albums which was his rock/Jazz side project with Percy Jones and John Goodsall (who I think is one of the best guitarist of all times based on how fast he plays but still able to carry emotion in the notes, chords and scales).
Officially in for Holy Ship 11, I may have shipped my pants a bit.
Nice. We had tickets a couple years ago, but had to sell them because life got in the way. You'll have a blast, it's a very unique experience being on ship with all the DJs.

Definites: Okeechobee (Even with the lineup being just alright it's my bday weekend so it'll still be fun) Shaky Knees Mountain Music Fest (If you've never been to southern WV you definitely should check out this fest and resort area, a lot of fun) Hula
Waiting on lineups, still leaning towards a yes regardless: Gasparilla Music Fest Bunbury Roo LOCK'N
