Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
one big holiday - confirmed pitchfork - highly likely. the dates coincide with a work conference, YAY! desert daze - after missing last year due to dissertation defense prep, i've already locked this in with the bosslady.
I'll be doing Bonnaroo and Bunbury for sure. Loufest is likely if the lineup is decent since I have family to stay with there. Hoping for Bourbon and Beyond or Forecastle as well, lineup dependent. My son is DYING to go to Bonnaroo, but he has a skin condition called icthyosis so he doesn't really do that great in heat. I think i'm going to try him at a smaller non-camping fest like one of the ones I mentioned this year and if all goes well, Bonnaroo 2019 will be his graduation present.
One Big Holiday High Water Shaky Knees Boston Calling Newport Folk Fest
Considering Homecoming
With MMJ not touring this year, I would love to get to a new one- preferably in a new state or city that I haven't been to. Feel free to try to influence my decision to join you somewhere!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Got the green light last night from the little lady to do Mad Cool.
Just curious, am I the only music snob on Inforoo? How are so many of you committed to festivals without seeing their line-ups?
Some reasons that influence early ticket buying for me: 1. Proximity. If it's close and easy, why not? 2. Dependability. The lineup always knocks your socks off, so you know it's worth it. 3. Social. Sure, if my all my friends are jumping off that bridge, maybe I'll jump to.

You can pencil me in for FORM Arcosanti in Arizona in May. The dates look good, it’s figuring out if I can do a camping fest on a shoestring budget.
Yeah, I want in on that too but I'm going to have to wait until 2019 or 2020 to pull that off. I think you have to actually apply to get in unless you do VIP. It's something like that, though I haven't looked at it in a while. It's a very small festival which draws on the arts community and wants or expects attendees to bring something to the table unless you do VIP then you pretty much can just go with the flow like any other festival. Form just looks so f'n other-worldly to me, and I usually like the majority of the acts. Plus you get Hundred Waters, and that's a good day any day.
thejeremy and I are going to Okeechobee. Tickets have been purchased. So much for no fests this year.
Why were you all doing no fests? I know you said you were "boycotting" $129 on Voodoo, but $43.00 a day is beyond a steal. Jazz Fest single days are like $75/80 and I'm sure you guys get comped a few at the magazine, right?

We don't get comped JazzFest tickets, but I know a person, that knows a person and I get those $45 JazzFest tickets, if I act quickly enough. Voodoo MIGHT happen closer to the actual festival, but I am boycotting those presale prices for sure; going to see what the actual lineup looks like.
We WERE doing no festivals to catch up on the debt we racked up closing on our house (a year ago today, thank you) and doing the updates. thejeremy said we will see when I said no fests in 2018; he proved me wrong already. No other fests are planned. I don't include JazzFest in that statement, mostly because I have only not attended once in over 20 years and it is local and whatever.
For sure. Hopefully the house bills are getting manageable now that you guys are in there for a year. Sometimes you have tweaks with furniture, painting and carpentry that can get a little expensive. But when you're used to it, it's just those once in a while things that pop up like appliances, plumbing and stuff. I want to run into you "out there", and I'm not doing Okee, so hopefully I will see you at something or other.

We have settled in for sure. All the updates really took apart savings and then maxed out the credit cards, so that is where my money focus is right now. The solar panels are all officially hooked up and I just paid my first solar bill, which dropped our Entergy bill down over $100. We will be doing shows locally for sure this year, so I am 100% sure we will run into each other.
Once we have bought some tickets, I will start my show ticker in my signature once again.

It’s a really foreign idea for me to apply to go to a festival. “What gender are you? Race? Link to website/work”. I get why they do it, it’s still just a strange process. You can apparently buy up to 4 tickets when they email you a link. Then there’s an Eventbrite page that I assume you can just purchase them. It’s confusing as all hell. I’ll have to do more research for sure.
It wouldn’t be an issue if I hadn’t been so impressed the past few years with the line-ups.
I MIGHT be going to Welcome to Rockville, but only for the Sunday. You can put me down for it and if I can’t go then I’ll just ask to remove my name from the list I guess
