...if Paul's been working on, say, Metallica for a while (their dates line up perfectly), or a Smiths reunion, etc.
i think we all need to tighten our definition of "dates lining up perfectly". Metallica's last tour date is March 13, 2019 in Michigan, a month before Coachella, which will mark the end of a seven month long tour.
It works if you select April 11 as your first night for some reason.
You're right, but the rates I'm getting are $200/night???? Thats expensive AF imo. $1,000 for the entire stay.
I booked a double queen suite for just over $1k, which would come out to around $200 per person for the entire weekend if we have five or so people. Compared to shitty hotels and motels already charging the same rate, it's a pretty good deal.

Yea but, I don't have any friends, so I have to pay full price out of pocket for my hotel stays. I'll keep hunting for something under $500 all in.

I'll keep looking too. Perhaps the Baymont will derp and charge super cheap rates again.

Maybe you should quit being poor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Saving $500 - $1,000 on hotel expenses means more money to blow in the casinos.
While I'm certainly financially comfortable, for some reason hotels are something I NEVER splurge on and hate paying for. I've stayed in some pretty shitty and crummy hotels in my lifetime.
I don’t think Goldenvoice would bother booking them for Coachella without Buckingham.
This was my initial thought, but I think it'd still go over very well from a booking perspective. Have they ever played a US Fest before? They feel like a Jazzfest type of booking but that's it.

Maybe, but I feel as long as Stevie Nicks is around, a lot of people won't care. This seems like it'd be one of the rare classic headliners that would sell well with the newer Coachella demographic.

They did that Classic Rock fest with “ The Eagles “ last summer

Original Fleetwood Mac (metal/rock band) played National Jazz & Blues Fest in 1967.
Played Jazz Fest 2013. They did a 2:30 hour set for that. I tried to go over there, but I opted for something else as it was too packed to even find a place to see the screens (you could hear okay, but that side of the Fair Grounds was too packed). Setlist was pretty much what anyone would want outside of the metal years before Rumors and the big time:
Second Hand News
The Chain
Dreams
Sad Angel
Rhiannon
Not That Funny
Tusk
Sisters of the Moon
Sara
Big Love
New Orleans (piece of a Stevie Nicks song - she ran with a coven of white witches here for forever and may still)
